I would leave no stars but that is not an option.

Our ordeal started after using a 3rd party booking system to book the room.
Upon arrival at 7pm instructions were given to use a code to open the door for entry, however the pin provided did not provide access to any room.

Never fear we thought, there is an after hours mobile for service. We call the number multiple times hearing a message "this is a manned service"

We left messages, and called multiple times and were unable to speak to a person.

Being a trusting person, I chalked that issue up to the tird party system.
To rectify, I thought, I will book directly via cedar lodge's own website.

We booked over the internet whilst at the hotel by now 10.10pm
Our money was taken, a reservation confirmation sent via cedar lodge's own website and yet still no pin code for entry.

So two bookings for the same hotel, and no way to enter the room. We called the numbers listed on the website, the numbers on the booking reservation and the number at the location for the afternoon hours.... Nothing.

At 11pm we walked the nearby pub, which was already closed and they accommodated us readily and easily.

Mistakes happen, but we didn't get a call about the room until late morning the next day.

A partial refund was processed after multiple emails, but fees withheld citing that I did not provide the appropriate phone number - I've used the same Australian number for every booking, never had an issue.

So we ended up paying $70 odd dollars to not stay in two hotel rooms.

Reasonably priced motel in heart of Braidwood. Walk to local cafes and shops. Basic, clean with decent bed, tv, small fridge & coffee making facilities, air con, microwave, desk. Friendly house keeping. Limited room space but ok for short stay. Appeared to be popular with workers and their SUVs/trucks staying overnight. What is it that they like to park in front of your room instead of their own?||No views, but some nice spring blossoming trees about. ||Mostly all online re booking and instructions for pin entry to room. So limited personal touch except for chat with housekeeping if you there when they are about. Look out for longer stay deals.||Small bathroom with decent hot shower. Small narrow sink a bit badly designed though when trying to brush teeth or shave (results in messy floor). Like most motels, not really for rest or staying in room during day with cars/people coming and going.

Really clean rooms with all you could need for the night. Also thoughtful touches for a motel - little muesli bars, cookies and cans of mineral water. Location is great - we had a night away from Canberra and walked to the pub for an awesome meal or coffee place in morning.

We booked in the peak late December period. The price was great and cheaper than other accommodation nearby.
It is a gorgeous quaint old style hotel. Altho its older, the rooms are modern and offer everything you need.
It's a quiet location, a very short stroll to the main street, cafes, shops and pubs.
The soap, shampoos etc smell divine and great quantity.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but well set out and adequate.
Very clean, nice and serviced.

My only negative feedback would be to install larger (tv very small), smart TVs, as only a few channels available and couldn't access Netflix etc

We recommend a visit to this beautiful historic town and stay at this well priced accommodation.

Rooms are basic, our room was comfortable enough but the door frame (at the top) was broken so air flowed in, including the smell of the smoke from the smokers area.
The service was good but fully automated and we didn’t interact with a single human there, instructions were clear and easy to use.
We came from Canberra specifically to stay here for a nice weekend because I saw the social media account with what appeared to be a tastefully renovated “old style” motel, this place is nice and clean and easy to use but it’s not really “renovated” it was given a lick of paint and a few plants put around from what I can see. Lovely place, not what the socials look like though.

The Cedar Lodge may not be the place for a long holiday stay but for an overnight or two stop convenient to Braidwood town it is fine. The room was clean and large enough. As a photographer with digital cameras I appreciated the good availability of power points - but one under the desk/table would have been good. The bathroom was all that was needed and the bed was comfortable. Clothes storage was fully adequate. |But ring the Lodge directly to book. Don't go via Bookings.com unless you want a flood of advertising and stuff you do not need.
