The Cardinia Community Aged Care website states that they have a dementia unit and dementia trained staff however they appear to have no idea how to manage an agitated dementia patient and state that they are a low care dementia unit not equipped to deal with this type of patient. (According to the Government Aged Care website there is no differentiation between low and high care dementia units) they seem to lack an understanding of the progression of dementia and the services available to them to assist in managing these patients, instead just sending them to hospital.

My mum has recently joined in this beautiful home. Mum had declined rapidly and we needed somewhere she would feel safe, secure, still had freedom and respected.
On my first visit I fell in love with the sense of calm, peace, time and happiness everywhere.
Staff were friendly across all levels and the transition was very reassuring and relaxed for my mum.
Recently my cousin visited and was impressed on such a place.
Congratulations and thankyou for everyone's time and patience, especially for me , asking questions.
Truly an amazing place and very blessed my mum is there.
You've raised the bar what aged care should look like .Well done

Wow talk about a step up in Aged Care which is so refreshing to see. Both my parents have now moved into this facility and the staff are all second to none, my Mum & Dad look fantastic, they have improved so much since being there, all due to the love and care they are shown there. An amazing Aged Care and it gives me great relief to know that my parents are being so well looked after and that they are not a number, everyone knows them by name, its just so lovely to see. I highly recommend Cardinia Community Aged Care for your loved ones.

Our family was impressed by the looks and feel of Cardinia Aged Care. The driveway and reception gives the feel of a 5 star resort.
The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and courtyards are very well maintained. The Activities run from 9.00AM -5.00PM.

Picking this place for our mother who was diagnosed with MND and FTD was a no brainer.
In the very beginning, it was challenging for all as by the time mum moved into the facility she was non-verbal but with time, patience & guidance from mum's medical team we got there.
The staff were welcoming and attended free training from MND Australia to better care for our mum and future residents.
Mum moved in Cardinia - Memory Unit in October 23 and sadly passed away in December that same year.
I did not meet everyone who cared for her but for the couple that I was fortunate to chat to here goes:
Joey you were incredibly patient and mum loved you very much.
Vee we met at the worst time (24hrs before mum passing) our family has not stopped talking about you. You have found your calling. We were so very lucky to have you at the worst possible time of our lives. Your words of comfort, the respect your showed our mum even after she passed, ensuring she was changed and moved to a bed from her recliner, allowing us time to process and for our closest relatives to say goodbye did not go unnoticed. You brought so much comfort to us as children who have just lost our beloved mum whilst you were trying to stay strong yourself. Thank you, thank you & thank you to everyone who looked after our mum. whether, you fed her, bathed her, ran the activities, cleaned her room and the list goes on.
Lots of love and appreciation from our family xo

Having moved our mother from another nursing home, we are beyond thrilled with the staff and facility. It’s more like a resort than a nursing home. More importantly our mum is loving it and we have seen such a positive change in her.
The communication , food, cleanliness and genuine care from the facility is outstanding .
We moved her in the day they opened and everything went really smooth and she was settled and so happy within hours.

I am absolutely excited to give these guys at Cardinia a 5 star rating!

My uncle has been in aged care for many years, and this place is the best so far. It’s probably easy for them from the start because the facility is amazing! It’s brand new and state of the art.

Previous places have been a bit lax in communication, and in truth, I’m not amazing at communication either. I forget to return calls and messages so between myself and some previous places, we never engage. At Cardinia Community Aged Care if I forget to get back to them, they’ll remind me, and they deliver on everything they promise.

They treat my uncle like family. Everyone I’ve engaged with have been motivated, professional and very friendly. Most importantly, my uncle loves the staff and facilities, and he loves the food! We, as family with someone in aged care, couldn’t be happier!

Recently moved my 2 aunts into facility. Cannot fault the care. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond. Lots of activities for residents to be involved in. Reassuring for family to see our aunts so happy and settled.

My kids call this place the "aged care hotel", my mum says she's very happy and so lucky, and my dad says he's got lots of freedom and autonomy, still keeping his car and out quite a bit
