Had an amazing time at the Rex Hotel, the hotel is very well staffed, free parking on site and location is very convenient.
Pool was heated with good facilities,
Room service available, Board games to borrow..
Not to add that the roof top restaurant was gorgeous too.

Breakfast could be a bit more varied but overall it’s was generous and well priced.

Will definitely be back!

This is our 2nd time staying here. Last time we had a suite as we stayed longer, this time was only overnight. We stayed in room 238. I was disappointed in the size of the shower head compared to the shower space. The shower head was no bigger than the size of the tap to turn it on. The water coming out of it was barely nothing it was like it was clogged up. The water kept going from hot to cold. When you pay good money you expect all things to work. I suggest getting a bigger shower head especially for a big shower space.
Last time we stayed was great this time not so much.

Pros: the service makes this place. nothing was too much for reception they always met you with a smile and upgraded us so we had more room for our baby. The location was a nice 10 minute walk into all the restaurants.

Come:The rooms did not have smart tvs, there was a bit of a stale smell and the pool shower needed maintenance as it was down to a drizzle.

overall but for the price, service and location I would stay again.

The staff were really nice and the cleaners did a good job, but I just couldn’t get past the carpet — it was stained all over, had holes, and parts of it were coming up and creating ripples. It honestly needs to be replaced; no amount of cleaning will save it. Also, the towel I got on my first night had a hole in it, which wasn’t great. The view from my window was just… weird, not what I expected at all. I have no idea how this place is rated 4 stars. I probably should’ve just paid an extra 20 bucks a night and stayed somewhere else.

I stayed with my partner at the Canberra Rex Hotel for one night on a Sunday and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The young lady at the reception was very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, I didn’t get her name, but she made check-in smooth and explained everything clearly. It was nice that our room was ready before the official check-in time.

We stayed in a twin room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and the size was perfect. However, the single beds were quite small compared to what I’m used to at home, which was a bit disappointing. The pillows were soft and comfortable, though. I did feel that the room and furnishings, including the TV, were quite dated. The TV wasn't digital, so we couldn’t access HD channels or streaming services like Netflix — hopefully, this can be upgraded in the future.

One of the reasons I chose this hotel was for the rooftop restaurant, but unfortunately, it was closed over the long Easter weekend, which was a letdown.
The location is good, close to both the city and Dickson centre.

I had a fantastic stay at the Rex Hotel in Canberra. It's conveniently located right on the main road, making it super easy to get around. The hotel is also close to the light rail, which is great for exploring the city. Plus, it's within walking distance to Braddon, the area where all the happening spots are—perfect for enjoying cafes, restaurants, and vibrant nightlife.

The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, offering a great space to unwind after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of the hotel is the Howling Moon Bar on the top floor. It's a fantastic spot to grab a drink with a great view of the city.

Additionally, the food at the hotel is top-notch. Whether you're grabbing a bite in the restaurant or enjoying a drink at the bar, the quality is impressive.

Overall, the Rex Hotel is a great choice if you're looking for comfort, convenience, and a bit of fun in Canberra!

5 nights in very comfortable spacious room.
We traveled with a aged disability and staff provided very suitable room, which alas, was right away from lifts resulting in long walks to and from lift. Not a big issue though.
We were fortunate to have breakfasts included as bonus and these were especially welcomed, and convenient, despite being same each day. Perhaps a little variety.
The only other niggle was restricted parking availability, though only had to park out on road once, resulting in yet more walking. Would i stay again? CERTAINLY.
I recommend Canberra Rex.

Mixed experience. |Pros: The staff. Reception staff in particular, and a really nice security guard were the only positives.|Cons: Everthing else.|- Only enough parking for a fraction of the rooms. |-Breakfast was the worst ever- no seating, cold, running out of everythin constantly ( I wouldn't complain if it was complimentary but it wasn't) and the kicker was the Cockroaches- tiny little things in the bathroom, and on the last night IN OUR BED. Seriously if you must stay here take your own bug spray.
