Canberra Parklands Central Apartment Hotel - Dickson, Australian Capital Territory

The location of the hotel was great but there is major room for improvement in other areas. The room was quite dirty, I found dead bugs laying around, the duvet was extremely dirty, and there was dust in every room. Cleaning should be improved. The key card door lock apparently needed to have it's batteries changed in the middle of my stay which definitely should have been done prior.

Good location not far to the shops and good road access to get in and out to the surrounding areas. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground level for the 3 of us and it was roomy and comfortable enough. Our small balcony looked out to a cafe, unit complex and small garden over the road but was quiet.
Convenient secure parking underneath the complex with lift and stair access.
We used the inside pool once which was OK for a quick swim.
We requested a late morning check out which was agreed to but we ended up leaving at 10.30 anyway.
It suited our needs and we would consider this accommodation again if staying in Canberra.

Firstly thank you to the staff at Parklands who were super helpful and accommodating with our booking.
Relatively well situated, short drive to city and all main attractions. Alternatively, bus stop very close takes you to light rail. Short walk into Dickson town centre for groceries or selection of dining options.
Downside, room was not clean, mould in bathroom grout, shower curtain filthy, stains on carpet, didn’t look like cleaners do much at all. Kitchenette floor needed a good mop, carpet needed vacuuming as still had paper scraps on floor, fridge not cleaned properly. Only 1 hot plate on stove worked and the glass top was loose ( needs fixing). Hot tap in shower had no nut so tap handle kept falling off ( staff did fix this as soon as we asked)
The neighbourhood is a bit rough, certainly wouldn’t feel safe walk the street at night alone.

Love this place.

If I can get a room with cooking facilities it's much better for me as I don't eat out much and prefer to cook my own unless I'm catching up with someone. Because ordering food in to my room or sitting in a restaurant alone is very lonely, even the ordering it in.

Staff I deal with on weekends is super nice and very helpful, even moved me toa new room when there was a mix up and my original room had not been serviced since the last guest. Very apologetic too. Simple mistake.

I stayed here for three nights with my two kids. We loved it. The room was large and it had all the facilities we needed. The staff were friendly. It was quite and safe. I would stay here again.

Very helpful staff both on arrival and departure.
Generally a great place although some areas look a bit tired especially the pool area, lift buttons.
Bathroom vanity area a bit squishy.

I had a one bedroom apartment - big fridge, microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer... It was quiet, very clean, spacious living area. Free access to a wide range of movies. 15 min walk (flat ground) to the Dickson shops and restaurant strip one way and 15 min walk (flat ground) to the ANU campus the other. thank you for the stay

Easy to find, friendly staff, secure garage, warm room. But, the bed was so hard and uncomfortable I barely slept. And, the toilet blocked, the flushing mechanism got stuck. Looked like it had done it before and wasn’t fixed. They are things that make or break a stay, we won’t be returning.
