So let's face it, cactus park can sound kind of lame, right? Well rest assured, this is not lame. It's by all metrics a very impressive collection and a great place to explore. The staff is friendly and attentive.

The on-site cafe serves decent, though relatively expensive, food; the cactus cake and ice cream is an acquired taste that I hadn't acquired, but was interesting to try.

We enjoyed our visit here. The restaurant makes it awesome, the food was so good. Pulled pork nachos, cactus cake and cactus ice cream. The gardens are also nice to wonder around, very dry since its like a dessert vibe 🙂
We stayed in the area and made a weekend of it, it's too far and not worth a day trip only from Melbourne. Highly recommend staying over to make it worth the far drive.

Visited on a weekend on a beautiful sunny day. Love that it's dog friendly & we could walk around with our dog on the lead. Really enjoyed all the different trails & amazed at how many different types of cactus there are. Many were flowering when we visited & the colours were gorgeous. We dined there also, shared the nachos with pulled pork which was tasty & also tried the cactus cake & cactus ice cream. Staff friendly & welcoming. Recommend as a fun day out for all ages.

My mother and I had a wonderful time visiting this magical place! Each cactus was unique and the paths were easy to navigate and accessible. It was a treat to run into John and hear about the beginnings of the garden from the founder. Thank you for having us - hope to see you again 🌵

Bring a hat and sunscreen because it does get hot. The food isn’t the best and is a bit expensive. The cacti are awesome, with there being plenty of different types and various photo opportunities. Well worth the visit.

Back again Feb 2025 and it didn't disappoint. Got there early ( at opening) and enjoyed a relaxing quieter walk around then the mandatory nachos, tacos and frozen margarita for some of the non drivers. Looked to have a more trails open, love the place.
Wasn't too sure what to expect but it was great.Walking around in 30+ deg heat was really nice 22/02/23, the gardens were great with some really old cactus out there. One of the most natural part we saw was from the hill to the back nth west corner that hasn't been sculpted for a long time. Couple of margaritas and nachos set the visit off nicely. Took home some Cactus cider as well, didn't last long it was great. Definitely be going back and staff were great.

Cactus Country is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but I rang to check and she allowed us to visit on the Tuesday! Great service! I love cactus plants and didn't want to miss this visit. Was totally amazed at the size of this place and the many different varieties on display in the garden. Some were huge! Others were fruiting! I don't think I have ever seen this many cactus! A truly unique experience! I wanted to buy a couple of the ones I had seen and was very disappointed when I seen the store. Poor selection and very over priced. They didn't have the ones I had seen in the garden and wanted. Buyers are also forced to buy larger more expensive specimens which may be more difficult to move and travel with. Not at all what I had expected from a specialized cactus retailer, especially after paying so much to visit the garden. Difficult to admit, but I had been really excited about the visit and enjoyed the garden but I actually left quite disappointed. Was it unreasonable to have high hopes of returning home with a new exciting cactus plant?
