I’m planning to do the Everest Base Camp trek this year and, as a complete newcomer to hiking, I needed advice and equipment for this big adventure. The team at Bush Equipment Store in Wollongong exceeded all expectations!

Ive been a customer of Bushcraft Equipment for 30 years plus. 'Sher' has sold me the most reliable and good quality gear for rockclimbing, via ferrata , kayaking and hiking in Aus and OS. I admire the longevity of the business and the dedication of the owner .

Great service! Not sure if the other reviewers got the owner on a bad day or if they didn’t understand him but he was a legend and a massive help. Store has a wide range for all of your outdoor walking activities. Gave some good recommendations for other stores to find whatever he didn’t have. Highly recommend going past before trying any of the chain competitors. Went to BCF right after and got ignored for 30 minutes

Just bought an Akubra Traveller for my wife at Bushcraft Wollongong. It’s the second Akubra I’ve purchased there having bought myself a Riverina a few years ago. The bloke there is a guru and expert at selling and sizing hats and all other outdoor gear. He sold me my first ever backpack, a canvas Paddy Pallin back in the late 70’s. He can spot a shifty tire kicking online shopper a mile away. So don’t even bother if you going in to find the right size boot or hat and then skulk off to purchase online.

Today we’ve been in and purchased the sojourn 80 hybrid backpack 🎒 on wheels. Big purchase for us. Served by Mark, who was lovely and knowledgeable. We’ve been shopping here for years and the gentleman who owns the store has always been helpful. To be clear: he doesn’t suffer fools or time wasters. So if you’re one of those and get your feeling hurt easily, maybe bring your mum in with you 😝

First time shopping here and will be the last! Rudest “customer service”!
Went in to try on Akubra’s, but were met with an unhelpful and extremely rude old man. It’s hard to support local businesses when you don't support your customers and drive them away. Keep that up and you’ll go bust. Will be spending our money elsewhere.
