Worst company to rent through. So much red tape. Ran me around for 4 days chasing paperwork and references. Only to deny me a rental that I got from another company in under 5 minutes with just an id.

Customer service was 2 star as I dealt with at least four different staff members in which 3 could not help me at all.

Disaster. LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Had to come to Rockhampton for a funeral so I jumped on and organised it online to pick up car from airport. Only wanted a small car for my wife and myself.Upon getting to desk at airport I had my confirmation number ready and gave it to attendant only for her to turn around and offer us a large dual cab ute .I had booked an I30 OR something similar and she informed me that this was all she had and nothing else .So much for booking online what a joke .Went to other desk at SIXT and they were more than happy to accommodate us with our needs .As for budget they didn't care about any bookings they just give out whatever and the attitude of the staff was "its this or nothing ".Wow budget your a joke.

Ten tone of paper work for a cheap hi car ... what a joke ... I'll never bother with them ever again go any were but here ... can see why there yard is full of car over every one eles.. plus they are over priced... go any one but budget... what a joke stupid set up

Upgraded to a Haval car - not an enjoyable drive. At check-in I was offered an insurance liability reduction for $30 to reduce accidental liability to $700, which I accepted without hesitation. Subsequently I had a flat tyre and upon advising customer service at drop-off, was asked if I had taken out the 'Zero' liability option. This was the first I had heard of such a product and I asked how much it was. I was told $35.
After politely offering that I (the customer) had not been advised of the 'Zero' liability option, I was told by the manager that he was there at the time of my check-in and that he and his serving staff member remember advising me of the 'Zero' liability option.
'The Customer is always right' doesn't apply in this instance, in fact I was, in essence told that I was lying. Clearly the staff have excellent and acute memory of all customer dealings and conversations and 'the customer is wrong'. Not very impressive. Happy to pay the $30 to repair the tyre. Would have been very happy also to pay the additional $5 insurance had I been told! Some room for improvement in customer service.

Terrible service pedantic staff. I filled the tank fully $80 yet the gauge apparently wasn't fully over the F mark ( considering when I got it mine refill was more. Another 5 litres squeezed in and the tank still didn't show over. Whatever.

Underpowered. Terrible road clearance could enter a normal gradient driveway.

A really miserable snappy old lady works behind the front counter. She will really bomb the start of your day. Will not do business there again. Also not anymore cost effective than hiring a removalist to do the work for you instead. The truck I hired guzzled the fuel fast and wobbled all over the road. Struggled going up hills. Try other car/truck hire agencies first. Or U-Haul trailers probably a better option.

Budget gave my personal details to a debt collection agency after the travel agency that made the rental booking didn't pay the invoice from a year earlier. Instead of pursuing a travel agency who they no doubt hope to continue receiving business from, Budget chose to pick on the little guy via a debt collector.
Not sure what this will do to my credit rating/history but it seems this a risk you take when choosing Budget.

Customer service SUCKED VERY RUDE STAFF ON COUNTER! I mean wow enjoy your below average job much? Why act pompous 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️ Network rentals in Fitzroy Street looked after us and they #cheaper!! we left these guys behind its for the best guys 🍻 👏 ✌
