Terrible burgers, dry, sold as fish but tastes like chicken - go elsewhere!!!

Passing through Appin, I stopped at Broadster Chicken for a fish burger and a bottle of water. What followed was an incredibly disappointing experience.

Firstly, it took over 16 minutes to prepare the order, which was already frustrating. When I got home, I discovered they’d given me a dry chicken burger instead of the fish burger I ordered. Not only was it the wrong item, but it was also heavily peppered and completely inedible.

I called the manager to express my disappointment, and while he initially seemed friendly and offered a credit for a replacement burger if I emailed a photo, the situation quickly took a turn. After sending proof, I received argumentative texts insisting the burger was indeed barramundi, not chicken, and flat-out denying the excessive pepper. The manager even said their policy was to return the burger for a refund—an absurd expectation when the food was inedible and already discarded.

This kind of dismissive attitude and refusal to take accountability is unacceptable. If you’re considering stopping here, avoid at all costs or double-check your order before leaving. This place is happy to waste your money, serve incorrect, low-quality food, and then argue with you when you complain. With such poor service, it’s clear they’re giving the Broadster brand a bad reputation. Spend your money elsewhere where customers are actually valued.

Amazing Spicy Chicken and Excellent Service!
I recently visited Broaster Chicken in Appin, and I can't recommend it enough! I tried their spicy chicken tenders and spicy chicken pieces, and both were absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with a flavorful kick of spice.
The service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure my experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
If you're a fan of spicy chicken or just great food in general, Broaster Chicken Appin is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for more!

My girlfriend and I always come around and order the tender lunch pack after a trip to Woolongong. Out of the Broaster's I've had, they make the best chicken hands down. Workers are really nice too.

I genuinely can't understand the criticism from others—it seems more like baseless nitpicking, probably because they’re competitors trying to undermine such a fantastic business. The chicken, in particular, was phenomenal: large, perfectly crispy, and bursting with flavor. It’s hard to imagine anyone being unhappy unless they have ulterior motives. Every time I have come here the food has always been the best. Cooked fresh as you order and always served fresh and crispy chicken and chips with the right amount of salt. Best part is that the chicken is not oily at all .Highly recommend compared to all other Broaster stores I’ve been to. Clean store. Great atmosphere. Beautiful place for the whole family.
