I have issues with mobility and have lost count of the times I've asked for an accessible room then been stuck with a room that was difficult.
At Braidwood Colonial I didnt even ask for an accessible room but said I'd prefer no steps if possible and I was so impressed to be given a room that not only had a ramp but also had a proper fold down shower seat and hand held shower and a rail by the toilet.
It might not be perfect for a wheelchair user because theres a little bump at the threshold but it was nice to see someone make a genuine effort at inclusion and at no extra charge.

Room was lovely, clean and quiet with a view of the gardens. Well located and friendly owner. Bathroom was fully renovated and we had all we needed for a restful night.

We (family of 3) had a very pleasant 2 night stay in a brisk, crisp Braidwood September. Our room was very clean and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and made for an excellent night’s sleep. The reverse cycle A/C certainly kept the room at a warm temperature despite the chilly outside temp. Modern renovated bathroom. Good size fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and tea and coffee and bottled water supplied. Free wi-fi and wall mounted TV. Free parking right outside your day. Pleasant, welcoming staff. We will certainly be staying here on future visits. Absolutely no trouble recommending the Colonial.

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Motel. Helpful staff. Had everything we needed - and more. Room a good size, clean, table and chairs as well as an outside area next to grass with another table and chairs. Would definitely stay here again if we were in Braidwood - we stayed in many more expensive places on our holiday but this was by far the best.

Our go to Motel in Braidwood, have stayed elsewhere but much prefer this one as the rooms are clean and spacious, and it's very quiet and value for money
