Spoiler alert; lots of hikes clips attached.

I have yet to find a more scenic hike in WA. The path is fairly well maintained. It is a 3hr round trip hike. No bathroom facility up top. Bring water and raincoat. The weather can change suddenly here.

The flora along the path is unique. It changes from moderate forest to alpine scrubbs at the top. If you are lucky there are wild emus in the vicinity. I spotted their droppings only.

At the top it is going to be windy. The day I went it was covered in rain cloud with zero visibility. There is no shelter from the rain so come prepared.

I did a day trip from Perth but I think this is better combined with Albany sightseeing.

Great views at the summit, sadly no coffee shops, it gets very cold and windy at the top so bring a jacket. The hike up is long but the view is worth it. Would come back

Such a beautiful spot! I stayed the night in Albany and drove to the start of the Bluff Knoll hike around 3am to catch the sunrise. I brought a headlamp, and surprisingly, the hike wasn’t as hard or steep as I expected. I reached the top by 5:30, just in time for the magical sunrise. It was pretty windy at the top, so a windbreaker jacket is a must. The views were absolutely stunning, and the walk down was much easier. Well recommended! 🙂

Amazing hike, I'm so proud to say I made it to the top despite my lack of hiking experience. I'm really glad I trained a few months beforehand as my legs still feel like jelly 3 days later😂

Such a beautiful place to hike. If you want to see sun rise, be sure to set your alarm to wake up early, i set mine at 3:30am. Make sure you bring torches with you. Wear extra layer of clothing or jacket. Make sure you bring coffee with you. You would like to enjoy coffee when you reach the top. Some path can be dangerous if being silly. Other than that, gear up and enjoy the spectacular view of bluff knoll.

Climb it when you're young. Hahaha
It's only 6km but it's 3 up and 3 down.
Don't attempt if you've got bad knees or poor physical health.
The stairs built to fit with nature can be a challenge.
Pick a nice day as the last leg you may have to turn back. There is a point where a sign requests you check the weather before you go any further. 20 years ago I did, it was a warm day and quite hot from the climb came to this point turned the corner into fog and a prevailing wind that sliced straight through whatever you are wearing. And going foward was not inviting.
NB people have died on this trail, and many injured so treat with mountain with respect.
Enough of the Debbie downer.
My last attempt was 100% success.
Magnificent views, perfect weather, picnic lunch at the top. And a proud pat on the back that I could meet the challenge, an ex smoker so all that up had me feeling my age.
Took us just short of 4 hours return including photo stops. Not including a 3/4 hour lunch sit and absorb to miles of surrounding landscapes.

Fantastic trail from the Bluff Knoll carpark up to the summit. Around 6.5km out-and-back trail with ascend of around 600 metres. Higher elevations often deal with low clouds and finicky weather it seems. We encountered this with fine conditions down below but thick clouds, rain and high winds at the summit. We were actually engulfed in thick clouds at the summit, it was very cold. Such a fun hike but do come prepared.

Level 4 hike is tough for non-hikers but worth the climb. We started climbing at 2:30 and reached at summit after 2 hrs and we watched sunrise. What a beautiful scene. Amazing!!
