Blue Mountains Heritage Motel - Katoomba, New South Wales

We had a rather enjoyable stay at the Blue Mountains Heritage Motel, and it was a good accommodation to be at. Location wise was decent on the main road of Katoomba St. Was not too bad walking downhill to the accommodation from Katoomba train station including with luggage.

Highlights for us:
- The staff was rather friendly in the brief interactions during check-in and check-out. We arrived earlier than the check in time and Carol was pretty sweet in trying to get us a room earlier than the check-in time if it was possible. Checking in was not a hassle at all. For checking out, it was also an quick and easy experience.
- We could leave our luggage with reception before the official check-in time and after check-out. This was rather convenient for us to explore the area without the need to lug our luggage around. Do note that it is not a lock up secure area but under the stairs in front of the reception area.
- It was nice to have breakfast included in the room, albeit the part where we had to hike back up towards the train station as breakfast was only available at the Metropole hotel. It is a rather beautiful location to have breakfast.
- The whole room, kitchenette & toilet was clean. The room was sufficienly spacious and the kitchenette was equipped with a microwave, sink & mini fridget.
- The welcome wine was a nice touch to the room and great addition for any celebrations.
- The room had a wardrobe section between the main room & the entrance.
- The toilet has a good working spa jet. Albeit it being a slightly older design, everything worked fine.
- Eventhough the room was facing the main road, it was quiet in the evenings and early mornings. The room location also provided easy access from the street.

The only drawback for us with staying here was mould in between some of the tiles within the toilet and the curtains. Whilst the room was generally clean, the window sills were rather dusty. There was also evidence of water marks at one of the corners or the room with what looked like the start of some mould as well.

Other than the listed drawbacks, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this motel. In fact, compared to other motels I have stayed in the past, this has been a very pleasant one to stay.

The motel is very old and not well maintained. As others have previously mentioned the carpets are stained, and there is a musty smell. Our room had black mould in the shower, grime around the taps, dust over the bathroom fans, a broken heater, broken lights, broken light switches, and dirt around corners/skirting boards… The bathroom sink was clogged with someone else’s hair, the cutlery/cups/plates etc were all dirty and no dishwashing liquid was provided so I doubt they have ever been properly cleaned. The walls are very thin and you can hear people next door to you or out in the hallway. Luckily we weren’t staying for very long, and did not spend much time in the room. It needs a deep clean and a lot of TLC.

We chose the hotel based on the pics and we were disappointed. The mountains are far away and maybe 2 tables in the restaurant can actually see them. There’s no heritage, the hotel is old and noisy. Breakfast is a scam! There’s literally nothing. No cheese. No fruits. And basic scrambled eggs took them 35min to serve. Simple things like the coffee machine in the room ( they only put 1 pod) and you find 2 old cans of tuna in the drawer ( evidence that certainly nobody cleaned this place for ages!!)

The room was clean and quite. The location is good and convenient. Aldi and Woolworth are just next door. Plenty of tea and coffee bags are provided in the room.|Our reception, Carol is very polite and friendly. She also provided us plenty of useful information to travel around👍

Here's a gem at a reasonable price. Big rooms, nice beds, table and chairs, good shower in older style accommodation, but hey!
Plates, bowls, and toaster, microwave.
Could relax in. Very short walk to lower Katoomba Street. Mmm

Beautiful place. Nice room, exceptional service, affordable rates. Plenty of parking spaces. Supermarkets across the rode 15 min walk to 3 sisters. I would recommend it and 100% will stay next time. thank you guys.

Cant check in after 5pm. Someone elses Hair in bathroom drain, shower and in bed. Black mould in bathroom. Cobwebs everywhere. Kitchen mixer tap loose. Rips in sheets. Holes in walls to the outside (i could see sunlight through). Absolutely filthy and disgusting. If it wasn't cold, I would have slept in my car.

Our stay at the Blue Mountains Heritage Motel was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The motel’s central location made it easy to walk to all the local attractions, which was a big plus.||The staff communication was friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the bottle of wine on arrival and the breakfast voucher for the Metropole Diner up the road. These little touches added to the relaxed vibe of our stay.||We stayed in the spa room, which was a great choice for helping us unwind. Overall, it was a very relaxed and pleasant stay. If you’re looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay in the Blue Mountains, this motel is a solid choice.
