Blue Lake will never be an unpopular place to stop at and take in the natural beauty.
It was just as beautiful today - even in the rainy weather - as it was earlier this year in the warmer weather ☺️ Enjoy the surrounding history ☺️

The blue in the blue lake is unbelievable!! It’s like someone put a piece of shiny emerald on top of the mountain. We highly recommend going around November -Dec when it’s on its peak.

You can drive the whole way around the rim of the volcano and there are plenty of viewing points. Apparently it changes colour to this beautiful blue for several months each year. It's just incredible. There is a visitor centre and apparently it's possible to get to the lakes surface if you book a tour. This whole area is fantastic. There is lots of accommodation nearby and the town has some great restaurants and bars.

We went on a day it wasn't very blue as it was very cloudy so there was not much sunlight. Still very beautiful, I think on a nice sunny day you would be able to see how blue it is.

What an amazing site. Stunning blue colour of the crater lake. Small car park off the side of road to viewing platform. A walking track and road around the top gives several stops to view the lake. Well worth the look.
