Such a peaceful stay!
Really loved our night at Black Forest Motel. The setting is super quiet and surrounded by nature — it felt like a proper escape. The room was dark, the bed was comfy, and it was honestly one of the best sleeps we’ve had in ages. Would definitely stay again if we’re back in the area.

We only stayed the night passing through but we were so pleased with our stay! John allowed our pet to stay with us for the night and was very accomodating & friendly. We stayed Easter wkend & the kids were greeted with mini Easter eggs on their beds (nice touch 🙂 Room was clean warm and comfortable. Thanks so much!

This motel was one of the best that we have stayed in. We arrived about 11AM (check-in is 2PM) and asked receptionist Margaret if it was possible to leave our bags there and have a key. Otherwise, we would not be able to check in till about 7PM. She happily put us in unit 11 which has a larger than normal ensuite a good size room. It included a Queen bed and a King Single bed. If it was my motel, I’d have just a Single bed rather than a King Single in the room so there would be a tad more room to allow an extra chair. You basically need to be lying in bed to watch the TV which looked like it was about a generous 47” size. The only real negative we found was the excessive brightness of the overhead lights and particularly the bedhead lights.|This motel has a separate and very well equipped self service breakfast room with a BBQ area at its rear, all part of the tariff. There were ten different options of breakfast cereals, eggs and nicely lean bacon in the fridge. If you are one who likes a big breakfast and has the time to prepare it, a full breakfast would probably cost you over $30 in a local cafe.||The motel is only about 60 mts from the Black Forest Way, but not much traffic uses it at night and we were not conscious of any noise once in our room. The photo that comes up on-line appears to be from the balcony of the Royal Hotel in Daylesford, not the Black Forest Motel.

Our stay at Black Forest Motel was very disappointing. Arriving after hours, we found the first room we were given was unclean, with a slept-in bed, dirty cups, wet towels and unemptied bins. When we reported it, management didn’t care and didn’t even check the room—just told us to move. The second room was poorly stocked, with an opened milk carton in the fridge. For $195, the rooms are very basic with only 1 desk chair to sit on, therefore the only space to eat or sit together is on a bed. Zero accountability from management who blamed evening on the cleaning staff. I’d recommend staying elsewhere.

Neat and clean rooms with very good bathrooms and great hot water. There’s a well equipped communal kitchen with all supplies needed to make your own breakfast. BBQ facilities are adjacent to the kitchen. Plenty of parking. The location is a little out-of-town but there’s no traffic noise.

We were checked in out on the footpath in the parking lot and told the room was unlocked and keys inside and off the owner went still eating his donut and his job of booking someone in was done.... Very average service. Won't be going back there again.

Our car broke down and roadside assist dropped us here as it was the closest motel. The place is thoughtfully laid out with well equipped rooms and a well stocked kitchen area. Everything was pristine - the owners obviously take great pride in the place. And they were so kind! It was late and raining and we had our two little kids with us. So the owner donned a Santa hat and delivered us some fruit and veg for us to make dinner and some lamb he’d just cooked on the BBQ! We were blown away.
