Not a good motel at all!
We made a booking 3 weeks ago, confirmed over 3 different phone calls on day of booking due to phone cutting out then a follow up phone call the next day.
Left our card details for payment and all was good until today when we find out our booking has been cancelled, and they are demanding a minimum 4 nights which has now come into place after our booking was made, we booked for 2 nights mid week.
Also a huge price increase, we were told at time of booking our room would be $170 a night and now they are telling us $450 a night with a 4 night minimum.
Absolute greed! I do not recommend this place at all.
We thought our booking was confirmed due to being told it was and now 3 weeks later cancelled because we won't pay the almost 3 times price increase and them doubling the minimum stay requirement.
Be careful when making a booking at this place.

Fantastic stay. Comfortable rooms with everything you need for a couple of nights. Friendly staff that go above and beyond. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Owner cancelled our booking on 2 nights which we made and they excepted the month prior. Then a phone call came and they wanted a minimum of 4 nights and when we booked it was $150 per night and then they wanted to charge us $400. Per night so our bookings went from $300 for our stay to $1600. . Sorry it is such bad business. Greedy and unprofessional. Spoilt our holiday. Shame on you

The billabong stay at Gunnedah was excellent Everything there met my needs Staff and management was very friendly and helpful,after staying at other motels in Gunnedah and paid more, also motels up and down the coast I found the Billabong Motel was very good for price and cleanliness , I'll always stay at the Billabong Gunnedah

It definitely needs a lot of work done - rooms are old and tired, lots of weird elements like the bathroom door being right next to the bed, scuffed skirting boards, old mattresses. However the staff are lovely and the grounds are well maintained, plus the location is great for walking to town.

Hopefully down the track they can give it a little spruce up!

This motel had the smallest room I have ever stayed in. I had to move the bed in front of the ensuite door to get in the other side. It looks good from the outside, has many rooms, but the inside was old and very dated. The owners had tried to update it, but made it look worse. The blue tiled ensuite was something from the past. There weren't any tea-towels to dry anything or tissues provided. The carpet was stained, one huge one.
