My sons and I walked in and didn’t get two steps in the door before the old lady at the counter started throwing rules at them no touching no loud noise no running no eating she was speaking to them like they were wild animals, my eldest looked at me in shock. She added this isn’t a place for children but I never read that anywhere on their advertising or door upon entry.
As we browsed the top area both my boys were by my side (another child was playing the guitar and running wild no one seemed bothered) another older man approached me with attitude asking what was I even looking at. We continued down the ramp and before we could even leave as I’d had enough of the horrible attitude towards my children she started spitting rules at them again for no good reason. I told her that was enough they hadn’t even done anything and I would not be purchasing anything with such rude attitudes.
Not to mention it was all junk not worth the drive

I've been using Bid Barn in Newcastle (Wickham) for several of my auction needs and have found their services to be exceptional.

The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Their online auctions are simple & effective,

I just bid what I'm prepared to pay, I then either win the item or I don't, no "bidding wars". It's perfect, whether you are new to the auction experience or a seasoned veteran.

The variety of items available is impressive, and their pickup and delivery services add a convenient touch to the whole process.

I've frequented Bid Barn multiple times and plan to continue doing so.

Love going to BidBarn! Have been coming for years with my partner and always end up going home with something cool! For those that like thrift shopping you couldn't get a cooler place. The staff are lovely, highly recommend!

This place is one of my favourite place to visit. Each time is an adventure into hidden treasures. You never know what weird and wonderful things you’ll find! The staff are hilarious and brilliant and the silent auction makes it like a game. Absolutely love it!

I used to go to this place constantly and have bid on many many items. The new owners have had a change of atmosphere sadly. Upon walking in last weekend I was abruptly told that I had to check my handbag at the door and wasn’t allowed to carry it in. I was really embarrassed and hardly look like some dicey criminal. I’ll never go back.

And now to reply to this response which clearly indicates the hostile nature of this business owner. Here is a photo of my handbag. The only one I own in fact. Hardly a large shopping tote. You may wish to review your aggressive approach and handbag policy. Do you lock it up for customers ? I don’t hand over my handbag and its contents without some guarantee of its safety. Your attitude was quite ridiculous on the day and it made me feel very foolish and singled out.

No point arguing with a fool. I’m sure you’re a very nice person when you are taking your medication.

Odd, unsettling vibe. Management/owners seem inconsistent re: customer service. Viewed them being aggressive, argumentative with customers. Overpriced compared to prior management and different (uncomfortable) vibe. Might be for some, but its lost its charm & personal touch/community spirit. Weird altercations btwn staff & customers the 2 times we've been this past year. Wont be returning.

Great bargains, friendly, cooperative staff, always ready to give you a hand. New premises are great--more organised and easy to navigate. I'd recommend you go along. You never know what you'll discover amongst the huge array of antiques, collectables and bric-à-brac. An everchanging feast!

Lovely people, great presentation of your stuff for sale & prompt payment. Great idea and great stuff for sale. We got a new TV, drawers, plants, couch ; even some new shoes & sold our stuff we no longer liked there. Great for redecorating.
