The hosts Bill and Carolyn were so friendly and accommodating, making us feel very at home and well looked after. If you're ever in this beautiful town, I would highly recommend staying here for the warm hospitality and personal touches you just don't get at a hotel or motel.

My partner and I had a lovely weekend stay recently at the Belmont Bed & Breakfast in Benalla. Our hosts Bill and Carolyn were so friendly and accommodating, making us feel very at home and well looked after. If you're ever in this beautiful town, I would highly recommend staying here for the warm hospitality and personal touches you just don't get at a hotel or motel. The home itself is gorgeous and filled to the brim with Victorian charm. The roaring fire in the living room was also perfect for a glass of red on a cool night. We'll be back

We were very pleased to stumble across this gorgeous B &B whilst looking for somewhere to go for a few days (at the last minute) over the busy Christmas period.||||We found Bill to be a wonderful host. This property is very well equipped, the ensuites a very generous size with plenty of room to move and ample bench space. The bed was very comfortable with lovely linen. We did not see any cob webs in the home. The home is very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast offers a good variety. We enjoyed drinks and nibbles out in the garden. I would prefer to stay here rather than booking into one of the local motels. The CBD is a 10 minute scenic walk away past the gardens and over the bridge past the lake.

Step back in time for a Romantic Weekend away. ||Comfortable beds and ensuite make this B&B a treasure. The linen is modern and the rooms are not to oldie worldly, so it's not to Dollie. ||The sitting room is lovely with a garden aspect and the room has a fire place. Tea and Coffee are at your fingertips and you can also indulge in a port and a chocolates. ||Your Hosts Bill and Carolyn are friendly and very hospitable and made us very welcome. ||A generous continental breakfast, cereals, toast, fruit, croissants, tea, coffee, fruit juice, yogurts and make sure you try Carolyn's prune comport.....to die for. ||In walking distance to the gallery, botanical gardens and some historical buildings. ||If your looking for a lovely place to stay please consider this lovely B&B. ||Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

I have been to many b&b's and this is right up there with the best. The old style home was beautiful and equipped with everything needed to make our stay a pleasant one. Our room was spacious, beautifully furnished and everything we could have hoped for. Bill was an excellent host, nothing was to much trouble and he really went out of his way to make our stay an enjoyable one. There was one negative however..... Which was having to pack up and go home to soon. Would have loved to have stayed longer

We stayed at Belmont Bed and Breakfast for one night this week on our way to the Victorian snow fields. The premises were clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom facilities were good. Bill our host was lovely and the continental breakfast prepared for us the next morning included a wide range of choice.

A beautiful furnished period house, which has stylish accessories, quality linen, quality shower products, substantial breakfast and friendly hosts. If you appreciate the beauty of yesteryear, you will enjoy and appreciate this home. These are the reasons why we return every year. Thank you Bill and Carolyn for taking pride of your house and sharing it with others.

I recently stayed here for 5 nights as I was attending a local wedding. In my opinion, this is probably the nicest place to stay in Benalla, however there is room for improvement. ||||The Good: The owners are friendly and the B&B is nice enough. I was traveling alone and was thankful to find a something other than a motel.||||The Bad: The bathroom was freezing. Clearly it was an addition to the house and was never insulated. It made getting up in the middle of the night to pee or taking a shower a harrowing event. The bath towels shed (like new towels that have never been washed) which I'm not a fan of. However the very worst part of my stay was the breakfast. It is described on their website as 'a generous continental breakfast'...I would have to disagree. There are a few types of cereals and jams, but not much else. Oh, unless I was expected to eat the expired mini babybel cheese. My first morning I was offered a croissant which I accepted. Day 2 I was offered a croissant again and I instead asked if there was a way to get some eggs (I had a bridesmaid dress to fit in to, after all). I would have even taken a hard boiled egg which is typically offered as part of a continental breakfast. The owner graciously made me 2 poached eggs (which were yummy). Long story short, I only ate 3 of the 5 mornings (eggs on 2 occasions) and upon checkout he charged me $12 for the cooked breakfast. Really Maybe I have a different idea of a Bed & Breakfast, but typically in these establishments one gets a generous hot meal...I was left feeling like I was ripped off.

Had a very enjoyable stay at Belmont, Bill and Carolyn were excellent hosts. Found the rooms very spacious including the bathroom, the breakfast more to my liking than bacon and eggs. Would happily stay there again
