Located at 121 Yala Road, Bangor, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺.
Edit - Bangor Tavern has recently been renovated and I have to say it looks fantastic. I am really impressed and the staff are still very friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious as always. Every Friday Night, there’s live music 🎶 from 6.00pm till late. The Great Beer Garden is also dog 🐶 friendly! Every Wednesday from 7.00pm, it is Trivia night. From Monday to Friday between 4.00pm to 6.00pm , it’s Happy Hour. Also, Kids eat FREE on Fridays between 5.00pm and 7.00pm and on Sundays. 😊😋👍
A great little tavern with lovely food for great prices. It has a great vibe to the place making it really nice place to eat and socialise with your friends. My chicken was very tasty and was happy with the service from the staff. Very helpful. Thumbs Up!! 👍👍😊

Bangor Tavern is a great local spot. Venue was really accommodating for our baby shower, staff were friendly, and the pricing reasonable. Plenty of screens, outdoor seating and playground for the kids.

Had a good early dinner with the family. Staff were friendly and the food was good. We sat in the Beer garden as it was dog friendly so we could bring our dog along with us. Staff saw our dog and brought out a bowl of water for her.

The food is not bad, but overpriced for what it is. $23 for a toasted sandwich, where the cheese isn't even melted through. $41 for 5 pork ribs cut in halves.
However a bright and comfortable dining area with friendly staff and quick service

Great food and drinks. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. I've been here a few times and I love it. The chicken with avocado and the Thai beef salad were delicious.

Food is very average. Has gone very downhill in recent times.
Previously used to be good. Now at best it’s cheap pub food that isn’t good but still at expensive pub prices. Happy to pay good money for a nice pub meal. But at Bangor there is cheap paper sachets of salt and pepper (not even a salt and pepper shaker), no straws for drinks, and average food. steaks that are not seasoned,. Specials are awful, never anything inspiring…
Today, Sunday lunch, place was almost empty and it was at lunchtime! Ordered Beef Shortrib (was so overcooked, dry, and a cheap packet gravy!!! with it and Kale with the thick stems still on it and kale leaves were raw!, clearly the “chef” had never cooked Kale before, or sorry, doesn’t know how to cook kale!) and Seafood basket says on menu prawns are tempura batter, but soooo thick is the batter on fish and prawns, was more batter than seafood!)
Ordered before, TBone steak , paying almost $50 and it’s thin and always overcooked.
We live locally. When Club Menai and other local restaurants offer better options, we have chosen to stop wasting our money on Bangor Tavern.
Today we wasted $72 on 2 mains that we didn’t eat. So with 2 beers we spent over $100 today. We won’t be back.
(Big TV screen in courtyard is broken and wanted to watch the test cricket, but when asked if TV could be turned on, was told TV was broken and maybe fixed in a week of two…!)
Many years ago the menu used to have wonderful pot pies and rib eye and other nice dishes. But me it is cheap pub food that is awful.

Bangor Tav is becoming family unfriendly. We have been twice recently - the beer garden is open for one minute, the kids are playing on the equipment, and then suddenly, everyone without a ticket is ushered inside, with no advance notice and no tables available. Lots of disappointed families jammed in like sardines. Poor business decision. This place used to be a great hang-out with kids - music and atmosphere as part of the dinner experience. The pub further down the road is starting to feel more appealing.
