Pub full of character in a cute town of Bangalow. Good sized deck for relaxed dinning. Only stopped for a quick drink but would like to return to sample the menu which looked great.

Iconic venue in beautiful Bangalow! The excellent outside deck is brilliant for a cold one on a sunny afternoon. Or a wine by the fireplace on a cold winters night. Sometimes let down by inconsistency in the kitchen and some questionable staffing choices in the past. I've had some great times here but also had some disappointing visits due to grumpy and rude staff that have let down the team (so to speak). In saying all of that it's well worth a visit.

The Bangalow Hotel and Restaurant are a regular drop in for my wife n I when staying local.

I recommend trying something different than the usual pub grub. Pork Belly entree was excellent and substantial.

The Northern Rivers Earth Avocado Kolsch was a good example of the style, be it an interesting choice of ingredient.

Quaint original pub with great outdoor undercover dining. The menu was a bit disappointing in variety, same old frozen to deep fried items. However the pork dish with vegetables did not disappointing. The meat was juicy, tasty, cooked just right for pork and vegies still had a crunch. I had ginger fish n chips, salad. This was just deep fried battered fish served with thin pickled ginger. Chips were cooked right, crunchy but soft inside. So many places can't cook good chips. Salad, well a few rocket leaves, bean sprouts n shaved partisan. Unimaginative n dry. Beer was cold, fresh.

After first phoning them to see if we could catch up with friends for coffee/tea and cake on wet sat arvo and being told “yes sure”. We arrived to “no cake on Saturdays”, and well, provision of tea was going to be a problem. Poor kid in the dining room had trouble with English (not her fault) but her supervisor didn’t really have the hang of service. Actually thought they might have been doing a candid camera for an episode of Fawlty Towers!!! Shame, good spot, old country pub, never got to try the beer. Catch up somewhere else next time.
