We loved our experience at Bamurru Plains, it's a very special experience in a very special location. Without exception the staff were amazing and the tours incredible...the airboats, as most people have said, are the highlight but the afternoon safaris are also special. The guides are knowledgeable and really add to the experience. I liked the fact that we got to know a couple of them a little bit better when they hosted dinner. ||Dinner, like all meals, was exceptional, Tiffany and her team created some magic in the kitchen which defied the remote location. ||The accommodation is unique, very clean and l loved the 'tent' feel that connects you with the environment and wildlife and birdlife, it's very special! It was around 35 degrees each day we were there and it was hot in the room but fine if you are directly below the roof fans... the pool is also a good place to hang out in the afternoon. I can see why some people might struggle with the heat but l would (and will) be back.

It's difficult to assign a single score because some aspects of the hotel are amazing while others are a challenge. The main plus is of course the area. The early morning boat trips take you to places of exceptional beauty and solitude. On one of them, we saw a Mitchell Water Monitor, a highly-endangered species. The bird life is phenomenal. Out front, wallabies and water buffalo roam about the property. The challenge, not surprisingly, is the heat. Since the rooms are set up with mesh all around the front and sides, they cannot be air-conditioned. This makes sleep a challenge. When we where there (late April), it didn't cool down until 3 am or so. If you are two couples travelling together, think about renting the Jaibiri cabins as they are connected and share a much-needed plunge pool. Food was very good, but perhaps more elaborate, especially for lunch, than needed. We all felt for the chef and kitchen staff who were working in furnace-like conditions. So, you will experience an amazing place, but be prepared for a bit of sleep deprivation.

What a fabulous way to see what our NT country has to offer. Be it for first timers to Australia or old country farm folk like us from further south. The connection to flora and fauna was well worth the logistics to get there. The scenic plane trip was a highlight despite the lack of fresh air in the very old plane.
The staff were exceptional and the food wonderful. A big special thanks for caring for my gluten free diet.
The daily tours on the airboat searching for various bird species and the crocs was a memory I will never forget. Sunset canapes by the wetland edge was very special.
Relaxing by the pool and viewing the buffalo and wallabies wander while the overhead sqwark of the corellas was magical.

Wilderness trip with expert guides, glamping type of outdoors bungalows, fantastic excursions and gourmet food. Ask for air conditioning since not available in most bungalows, which is the main critic. Choose the right period to go, not too near to rain season

I recently had an unforgettable 3-night stay at Bamurru Plains Wetlands Lodge, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Nestled deep in the wilderness, this lodge offers a unique blend of luxury and adventure. The meals are nothing short of sensational, with each dish showcasing the finest local ingredients and expertly prepared by talented chefs. The staff are fantastic, always going above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and cared for.

The scenery is awe-inspiring, with breathtaking views at every turn. Waking up to the sight of wallabies hopping and water buffalo grazing on the floodplain right outside your room is an experience like no other. The airboat tours each morning were undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. Skimming across the water, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, was exhilarating and provided unforgettable memories.

Bamurru Plains is truly an oasis in the Northern Territory's top end. The sheer abundance of wildlife in their natural habitat is both exhilarating and awe-inspiring. The passion and knowledge of the guides and hosts enhance the experience, as they share their insights and stories about the local environment and its inhabitants.

Whether you choose to relax by the pool or explore the plains through one of the many optional tours, every moment at Bamurru Plains is a delight. The delicious, chef-prepared meals are the perfect way to cap off a day of adventure. I thoroughly recommend this bucket list adventure to anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable getaway. The combination of stunning natural beauty, exceptional service, and luxurious accommodations makes Bamurru Plains a must-visit destination.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff who made our stay truly unforgettable. From the very beginning, we were welcomed by guide Jon, whose enthusiasm for the lodge is infectious. It is evident how much effort he puts into ensuring each guest has a wonderful experience. Sam and Corey led our safari and airboat excursions, showcasing everything the lodge has to offer.

A big thank you to Liam and Tiffani, the chefs who prepared wonderful breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. They thoughtfully accommodated my request for a vegetarian menu, and every meal was on par with a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Additionally, thanks to general manager Jo and lodge supervisor Matt, whose diligent work ensured that any issue was resolved promptly. These were the most memorable holidays, and I write this review with pride and gratitude as someone who has traveled to every country in the world.

Very grateful for the opportunity to stay at this beautiful property. Situated in one of very exciting locations, the lodge is perfect in its simplicity and comfort. Expect the pool overlooking the plains with their buffalos, wallabies and endless amount of birds. This is the experience! All the guys, leading with John, do their very best for anyone to enjoy this unique destination. Great!

Had a wonderful time at Bamurru. The location is absolutely perfect- remote and serene. The wildlife is beautiful and abundant. The rooms are possibly the best part- getting to wake up overlooking the floodplain with wallabies hopping about and water buffalo meandering through it all is so nice. The locale and rooms are only surpassed by the service the team provides. They are the consummate hosts, also going above and beyond to answer questions or provide an improvement to your stay.

Excellent safari experience. Fantastic accommodation, we managed to score an air conditioned cabin. Loved the communal meals. Food and service exceptional. Airboat safaris a highlight. Abundant wildlife across the wetlands. Gin and canapés on Jeep safaris, the cherry on top. Be mindful it is a treak in on unsealed roads, most people arrive by plane.
