There were a few red flags from the get-go but given another friend had locked you in (unfortunately their wedding did not go ahead), I decided to stick with this company.

Communication was very poor, with most emails requiring a follow up email to see if the previous one had been read and multiple quotes were given on the same product.

The main reason for this low review is that what was requested, discussed and agreed on during our over the phone meeting, in-person meeting and multiple email correspondence with ample photos was not was delivered.

I received the incorrect colour, the wire holding the flowers in were visible, I was given much much less flowers than requested and paid for my cake meaning the back of it was completely empty, the table arrangement were literally a thin layer of long leaves making the tables looks cheap and tacky, the candles in the table seating were very well used and close to burning out before the event finished, I was given incorrect products such as a pin for the mothers when I specifically requested wrist corsages, none of the products were labeled meaning I didn’t know where my throwaway bouquet was and ended up using one of the bridesmaids’.

I was completely ripped off, being told multiple times by Tracey that I am requesting premium flowers so need to be charged accordingly only to be absolutely mortified when I saw my flowers.

When providing feedback, which again required multiple emails to get a response, very few of my complaints were addressed and I was told that I should have contacted her on the day that I was not happy. That is absolutely absurd as no bride has time to call up a florist and request it be changed when they are trying to get ready and need to get photos done.

What is most disappointing is that photos were sent with specific requests. Sure, if miscommunication happens then it can be interpreted in multiple ways but if a client asks if you can deliver something and you say yes, it is up to the supplier to do that. If not, I would have gone with a design that you knew how to do.

Everything else was incredible on my wedding day and it is just unfortunately that those flowers were in most of my photos as a constant reminder. Would heavily warn people to stay away from this company.

Tracey’s eye for detail is second to none. Her knowledge and products helped make our day special. She was clear about what I needed to do so they could pick up the equipment without fuss. I would not hesitate to recommend Balwyn Events for your special day or function.

Although Balwyn events is very reasonably priced and it was recommended to me by my caterer but Tracy is not at all a good communicator. I got chair covers from them for all my three events and payment was in advance. Tracy did not mention anything about taking off the chair covers not in an email and not on phone .I was not told that I would have to do it myself. Usually the price includes putting the chair covers on and taking them off . It was a hassle after the event ended at midnight and we are taking off the chair covers. Very disappointing.

Balwyn Events are a fantastic wedding supplier. The work they put in to our flowers on the day was nothing short of spectacular. They all worked so well from the table centre pieces to the bouquets.

They were very reasonable in cost and and Tracey was great to work with.

They did a great job with the church decoration but they forgot to deliver the wishing well at reception and so it was awkward when guests where asking were to put their envelopes of money. They also don't give refunds, invoices or receipts so it's hard to check if everything you ordered was actually delivered. Their receptionist is not pleasant to talk to either. The flower center pieces I ordered for the reception where no were near as full of roses/flowers as the example image I showed them. They were still beautiful but not what I wanted them to be. My bouquet also was not the same as the image that I showed them. Again beautiful but not what I wanted.

Reposting our review, as it appears you have decided to remove your FB Review page which contained our honest, albeit negative, feedback, along with others (which regrettably we did not read before our wedding). My wife is also still waiting for you to do the courtesy of responding to our private email to you.

Our wedding was on 17th May 2014.

We were initially impressed by the straight-forward way Balwyn Events dealt with our requests and questions. On the day, we received the flowers on time as requested and the chairs at River's Edge were set up by the time we arrived at the venue at 5pm. The flowers were beautifully arranged.

Sadly, none of the items were the colour we had requested or sighted when we attended Balwyn Events and it is hard to put into words how disappointed we are (plainly, my wife was/is still quite gutted) that the theme we had worked so hard for after so many months was made redundant with the arrival of the flowers and then again, when we saw the venue set up.

Our wedding theme was navy and coral. The sashes we were given were not the ones we had seen when we placed our order but a few shades lighter - the best I can describe is perhaps Royal Blue. The lightness was very obvious in the sunlight at 5pm and under the reception lights throughout the night. The coral flowers had been intended to be the highlight of the decorations, but had arrived a bright, solid candy pink, not the soft orange-pink that had been requested and shown to us in your albums. We had placed our full trust in Balwyn Events and your advice and now regret that we did not question more.

Your actions and disregard ruined what would have otherwise been a perfect wedding day.

We have had to withdraw our recommendation of Balwyn Events to no less than two of our friends/family, despite having very eagerly referred them to you when they commenced their wedding journey, and will continue to warn others.

To you, it may be nothing more than just a business transaction, but please consider that to your customers, it is one of the most important days of their lives.

To the Tracey Purdy and the Balwyn Events team, You guys rock!! I was so much in awe with the set up u decorated on my wedding day last March 16, 2018 at the Vines in the Yarra Valley. It looked pretty and amazing! You never failed us. Our guests love the decorations and couldnt stop admiring the flowers and centrepieces! We got exactly what we want! Thank you for making our wedding day dreamy, elegant and beautiful!
