We chanced upon the Yarrowee Cottage at the last minute. There are no words! This place is unbelievable! Where to start!|The location is superb. In one of the back street nestled against the creek among trees and a lush garden. The Wallaby trail is easily accessible from the back door. The garden is unreal! There is so much to see and enjoy. Every nook and cranny, there is something different and quirky. Such a quiet and private location.|The outdoors offers everything from a quirky fire pit to an undercover pergola complete with bbq and out door setting. The views from the back verandah or even one of the seats around the property are refreshing and relaxing.|Inside, the kitchen offers everything you could possibly need for a short stay. The lounge room too, leaves you wanting fro nothing. TV, CD player, DVD player (along with a large selcetion of DVDS) games and magazines. And if none of that interests you, just spending time admiring all the quirky and interesting nick nacks around the place will keep you entertained. |The bathroom on the ground floor is spacious with a fantastic 2 person spa. And the shower!! A massive rain head with decent pressure! Abundant and quality linen is supplied to cover all your needs.|The bedroom upstairs in aahhmmaazing! It has 2 stunning stained glass windows (1 each end) which let in natural light. A comfy bed and the BEST pillows I have ever come across in accommodation. The room is brought together by all the essential items including mirror, luggage racks, couch and wardrobe complete with robes. The thoughtful light switch for the stairs ensures safety during the night.|Honestly, I was devastated to leave this place. In all my 58 years, this place would easily rate in my top 3 places where Ive stayed. The cute cottage was pristine and clean - inside and out. There was nothing out of place and the visit left me wanting for nothing except more time to stay. One of the best!!!

Thank you for a beautiful stay in the Yarrowee cottage. The outlook was very special and the kids loved playing by the river and using the giant artistic dog fire pit. The wide selection of coffee options was greatly appreciated. We loved having our dinner under the rotunda and using the spa. A perfect place to stay for family visiting the region.

We loved our stay in the cottages. It felt like a treat to have the whole place to ourselves with a fire, cosy frontroom, kitchen and large upstairs area. Everything was thought of including games, magazines & dvds. Lovely area outside and the host was so helpful.
If you are a sensitive sleeper maybe bring a eye mask for upstairs as it has two beautiful large stain glass windows which let's early morning light in.
We would stay again.

The welcome with two gorgeous flower arrangements, balloons and a small gift was overwhelming. We used all three cottages, fired up the dog which kept us warm outdoors. Lots of chance to mix with each other, the cottages were all warm and cosy for Ballarat's cold winter. Lovely walking track nearby. Great hosts. Thank you.

We stayed here on queens birthday long weekend as this was our first chance to get away since Covid19 restrictions enforced prevented any earlier getaway. Lovely outdoor fireplace to enjoy! With fresh firewood being cut as needed by Rob. Inside the cottage is quite dated and very dusty . A refurbish would make it exceptional. Felt a bit cluttered. Couch in lounge room was extremely saggy. All in all a lot of potential but just needs updated decor and furnishings. Lovely hot shower and nice spa . Bed mattress very hard. Wi-Fi cuts out upstairs and TV reception very poor cuts in and out. A new TV would be great too! Located very close to the lovely Wallaby track trail part of the Goldfields Trail 😀🚵‍♂️

We had 3 nights in the Yarrowee Cottage. It was perfect for us as we could stay outside along the river and enjoy the sun. Across the bridge and you are on a walking trail that is fantastic. It does not get more relaxing than that. You are only 2km from Sturt St so it is a great location. I would recommend this place if you like relaxing after a day out.

Loved my stay here. Bed was really comfortable, water was always warm and the decor was fun. The cottages are hidden away in a lush garden with birds creating a relaxing stay. Can’t wait to come back soon

We stayed two nights in Bilrene cottage which is one of three cottages on the site. We were very impressed with how comfortable and spacious the cottage is. It is also set in a lovely garden with a gazebo out the back. The kitchen is well appointed, the main bedroom very spacious and the beds and lounges very comfortable. The cottage is about a 5 minute drive from central Ballarat. The drive to Sovereign Hill is under 10 minutes. It has central heating and split system air conditioning. Is like a home away from home.
