The food is getting worse and worse. Iv been going here for 20 years and since the Australian venue co has owned it, the food has been terrible.
Meals are regularly cold, forgotten to be brought out/cooked, loaded fries are not very loaded (and small), steak was cold and over cooked again, and when I asked for vegetables this time instead of chips and salad I only got a hand full of broccolini. Just a few of many problems with the food. Friends and myself have been hoping it will improve but it seems to keep going backwards. If they want to charge high prices, they need to match the food quality to suit and not too mention the ridiculously high bar prices compared to other pubs around town. Renovations are pretty good, that’s about all it’s got going for it now.

*edit*- 02/2025- it seems this pub’s management has taken upon themselves after I have reviewed the venue to block me from their social media page.

We had my son’s first birthday party in the Jackson room function space on the weekend. The room was a great size with plenty of seating, we also hired the adjacent courtyard where guests were able to enjoy the footy and mingle. The ball court was a great venue for our boys first birthday, we were able to bring our own soft play, there’s a big playground and even a petting zoo on a Sunday. I was able to come down earlier than the function start time to decorate the room as we pleased. The food was great and reasonably priced, the lady working the bar of the function (I can not remember her name, so sorry) was exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure our day was fantastic. Will definitely be back for further functions.

Friday night & it was busy! Good vibes, lots of happy diners.The wait staff were so amazing, the food was fast & fresh. The only negatives are the floors need to be cleared of previous diners' food & rubbish (paper napkins, straws etc) before the next diners occupy that table & space. This probably happens because the tables get wiped down & everything & anything from the table ends up on the floor under the table lol. Getting a park is hard on a Friday 6pm onwards...but apart from that? Good place to go for pub grub in Sunbury.

I had a fantastic experience at the Ballcourt Hotel on a Saturday night while celebrating my birthday. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive they really made the night feel special. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, and everything from the service to the setting contributed to a great night out. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate for dinner. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a cosy Sunday lunch around 2pm for 10 people inc kids & a baby. We were seated inside by the back door, it was an open atmosphere and surprisingly fast service. The food was served HOT & tasty (especially the mushroom pea risotto). The kids enjoyed the playground and live singer outside. Skipped on dessert. Would definitely be returning & recommending.
