Was looking for somewhere to meet with a small group to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Decided on Appin Hotel as this was approx 2 hours north and 2 hours south for some of my party group. What a great choice. The food was amazing and the service was the best I’ve had the pleasure of receiving in more than 20 years! The lady in charge of service was amazing, going above and beyond for us. If I owned my own business I would be looking to poach her from them. She was simply fantastic, thank you!!!!

We called in for lunch today. The meals are brilliant and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The only criticism is the size of the meals. They are enormous! Way too much food for us. Maybe you could consider offering smaller meals (like a pension meal). We hate waste and we did bring leftovers home for dinner but I am sure that there would be a fair bit of wasted food. Otherwise, highly recommended local location.

This place is fantastic! My kids love their burgers and chicken schnitzels—the best they have had so far. I personally enjoyed everything about this bistro. The service staff is fantastic, and the chef and his team are very friendly. The prices are reasonable, and the food is delightful.

It’s like stepping back in time—and not in a good way. The decor feels outdated and worn, as if it hasn’t seen a refresh in decades. The atmosphere is stale, lacking any energy or warmth that you’d expect from a local pub. To make matters worse, the service is incredibly slow; we waited ages for even the simplest orders. The staff seemed indifferent, and the food didn’t redeem the experience either. Overall, if you’re looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or a drink, you might want to look elsewhere.

Turned up as lunch was ending but the cook insisted on cooking us one of the best parmigianas we had ever had. Delicious and couldn't recommend highly enough.

I always come back here for their sticky date pudding. 😋 Sooo good! 💯 Large servings, and they also do trivia night, which is so much fun!

The staff are very welcoming and the food is fantastic. The chef cares so much about his bistro and pleasing his customers. I just wish this pub was closer to home for me.

Had lunch here 27/10/24 after hearing the Bloke In A Bar podcast where the chicken parmi was given a big wrap. I tried it and liked it. Chris the chef is a really nice person. They’re also sponsors of the Appin Dogs Rugby League Club. Across the road from the Big Koala.
