In July 2019, my husband and I stayed here for two nights. I am very particular about cleanliness and I was not disappointed. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The mattress and linen were good and I slept well. They have a common room where you may read, grab a coffee (at a cost but very nice), borrow a DVD to take back to your room or just relax in front of the fire. The property is two buildings connected by a glassed in atrium. You can relax in this area as well or venture out into the courtyard. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here during the photo festival and it was perfect. Perfect location as you can walk everywhere. There aren’t car parks but it’s so cheap to pay for on street parking while there or you could come via train as it’s all within walking distance. It is so welcoming and you feel like it really is a home away from home. We had a wonderful family break together and this hotel was a large part of how much we enjoyed this beautiful city.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Considering my room was less than half of the cost of other accommodation in the area I was pleasantly surprised. The room was neat, very clean and light.

Centre of town and right across the theatre. Beautiful building but needs some love. We were downstairs in a room near reception and you can hear everything in the hall. The blinds don't cover all the light as well so you get light coming in from the hallway, if you need absolute darkness, this is not for you.

I travelled to Ballarat with my Mother for the weekend and we adored our stay at the Ansonia on Lydiard. We stayed in one of the new rooms which was twin share in the form of two seperate queen beds in two bedrooms. The room was such a generous size and very cosy with great heating. The bathroom was also very big. This hotel is great value for money and the location is central without being too close to the train station. Contential breakfast was an added bonus. We did not have time to utilise but the Ansonia has plates and cutlery plus wine glasses available if you want to eat in your room - a thoughtful touch!||||The staff made our stay extremely pleasant. We would definitely pick the Ansonia if we visited Ballarat again! Thanks for a great stay!

A great old building. Very spacious rooms. The new couple who are now running it had only just taken over
three weeks before our stay. They were really friendly and had great ideas to improve the hotel. A restaurant would be a bonus.

Great boutique type accommodation. Rooms are quite old but adds to the character. Room & En-suite are basic but bed is comfy. Decor is stylish and staff were lovely and very helpful. Secure access via a keypad entry to the main building enhanced personal safety . Would recommend this unique accommodation for short stays .
