This is advertised as non-smoking accommodation. However, people are allowed to smoke on their balconies. Even ashtrays are provided. As the apartments are stacked one above the other and on the sides, if you are a non-smoker, you will not be able to use your balcony or to open the balcony door to let some fresh air in because there will commonly be someone smoking on one of the balconies. False advertising, in my view and quite a deceiving one for me, as I can't stand cigarette smoke. If I was in NZ, I would contact Commerce Commission, but not sure who is in charge of dealing with false advertising in Australia. Will never book this place again.

There’s a regular bunch of businesses and clientele that use the place. For that to occur it’s found something right. The staff are great and know many on a first name basis….but the processes!|- stop ringing us a eeek out from when we are staying there|- quite the incessant SMS notifications |- why do we always have to sign in on a dodgy tablet?|- install some streaming services

Great Staying at ACR in Townsville. Awesome rooms, brilliant views, very friendly staff and plenty of parking.
Pool sessions in the Summer heat were much needed after a day out in Townsville.
Central to most things such as a walk to the stadium, quick uber drive to the strand or a great feed from the many options of restaurants in Palmer St.

Motel standard at Hotel prices. Overpriced rundown Motel named as a Hotel. Rooms not serviced daily, done on 7th day only. Only one general overflowing waste bin available. Laundry facilities dreadful. |Could be great because of the location, unfortunately looks like the owners just want your money with no investment from them. Will not be staying here again.

Cockroach on arrival I had to kill. Then there were lots of small ants throughout the room for the rest of the stay. I tried to get them to clean the room to get rid of the dead insects at least, but they failed to clean it once during my 6 days there. I get that companies are being environmentally conscious, but when I ask for dead insects to be taken away and the room cleaned of pests it's not unreasonable. Really disappointing. The pool was excellent on the other hand, hence not 1 star.
