Typical of most goals of this era.
Still worth a visit as this one had some unique stories.
The broken glass on top of the external wall adds to the security!

The Albany Convict Gaol Museum gives you a good insight into the tough conditions of the early settlers when they first came to Albany. The building is well preserved and furnished with a lot of furniture from the period with some creepy full size figures to surprise you on your way round the museum and there is plenty to read. The museum is all on one level easy to get around however, wheelchair access may be tricky as some of the doors are thin due to the period they were constructed in. There is some parking outside with a couple of picnic benches for a munch and a cup of tea afterwards. A family ticket was about $15 from memory.

Amazing historical place, just put a few pictures but will let you discover yourself.
It is all so well explained, it is entertaining. Can’t wait to go back for the night ghost tour !!

Great little piece of history. Enjoyed the experience. Was only $6 per person and had so many personal stories. The pictures and photos are great.

Candlelight tour was fun, atmospheric and interesting! The staff were awesome and it was such a great way to view the museum.

It looked tiny but spent a good hour or more here and still could of spent longer if I read everything. Just a walk up entry not knowing what we were going into and so happy we paid the small entrance fee each.

Merv was great. I could of been there another hour talking to him but had to keep moving. A really good experience

This was a great little adventure with kids, we visited on a weekday at 10am and were the only ones there . Kids enjoyed the history and photos ? throughout.
