The morning ferry was great, everything went smoothly. Unfortunately we arrived, and it started raining like literally a storm for the whole day… so there was no way we could go kayak let alone snorkel. We wrote to the company 2 days before to ask to cancel and refund but they said no. We know it’s written 48h refund policy but it’s hard to know that much in advance if it will rain. They could offer a 50% refund or even 25%…. We used the ferry, fine. But we used none of the equipment… and we even consumed coffees, drinks and food on the island… we stayed from 10 am to 2pm in the restaurant sitting and reading a book… so very disappointing policy.. we’ve seen much better companies who were more knowledgeable about the weather! So would
Not recommend this company.

We had a very nice day on the island despite the weather was not good. The ferry is very comfortable as there is a bar for drinks and snacks.
We have been welcomed by Brigitte. We rented the snorkel gear and a kayak. We would have expected a better briefing for the kayak because it was too windy and the water was choppy we had to drop the kayak after 50m because it was too hard. The snorkelling was however very nice and really easy to do on our own.

Seeing the shipwrecks was the one amazing part of the day and it was stunning to snorkel them in person. Outside of that , the resort and experience was a huge letdown. I don’t normally post reviews but felt compelled to share my experience.

We got the day pass with access to the snorkel gear, kayaks and paddle boards. ($258 total for 2 people) To start our day, we made our way to the terminal where it’s reiterated you must be there between 6:30-6:45am to not miss the boat. We were there right at 6:30 and then sat in the cold as you can’t even begin to board until 7:15. Couldn’t even board the boat even though it was just sitting there.

The arrival staff was friendly and helpful in getting us sorted for the day. We got the kayaks to the shipwrecks but you can actually walk to them way faster (25 min ) We had issues with the kayak and then found at the end of our time that the kayak had a leak and was filled with water so it was 100 pounds heavier or so. Had to walk the kayak back through the water and it was too heavy to even get out of the water and back to the hut. A staff member helped and flipped the boat over and then took off a plug and it drained water for serval minutes.

I think the biggest reason for such a low rating was how the company boasted you get access to all the resort amenities. Basketball, badminton, the pools, etc. The courts were actually a concrete area covered by a roof and structure that looked like it was going to fall over. All shots in basketball and half of them in badminton simply hit the roof. The resort pool was very cold ( even the staff said it wasn’t very inviting) so it wasn’t appealing to venture in. We had to pay $10 for a locker and another $10 each for wetsuits. That made the day almost $300 without any food.

The locker situation by midday is a disaster. Aren’t enough lockers and people just put their stuff everywhere. What really sealed the deal was that after a long day of being in the ocean, there was ONE single shower/stall for everyone to use. Had to wait forever to access it and no soap or shampoo was provided. I asked resort staff and front desk for soap/shampoo and nobody could get me anything. Everything was just so frustrating and this didn’t feel like a “resort” experience. This was also the slow season !

There was construction going on as well and I heard something about how that the area I’m talking about will be improved but that doesn’t help current visitors in the meantime.

Overall, the ships were great but the resort experience was a huge bust and disappointment. Felt ripped off with what we paid. If construction is affecting this experience which it is, it should be advertised ahead of time and massively discounted from the regular price.

My advice is to do your research ahead of time. If going to the shipwrecks is a must for your bucket list then for sure go. If you were looking for a relaxing resort experience this isn’t it.

Chose the Wrecks Adventure Tour for our trip to Moreton today, price seemed great considering it was only about $60 more than catching the Micat over, then activities and resort access are included.

A few of the activities weren't available because it was not windy enough (catamaran and parasailing) and The Covid (banana boating) which was a bit of a bummer, but our Guided Wrecks snorkel, Stand Up Paddle board and Kayak hires all ended up being great. Our snorkel guides were efficient and friendly, and hiring the SUP and kayaks was super smooth. The wrecks were pretty busy and crowded, but hey, it's that time of year.

Only 4 stars because we were sent incorrect info about ferry departure in the morning, told 7am in the email confirmation and website FAQ but it's actually 8. I could've slept another hour! Then on arrival when choosing our activities the staff also told us confusing info about which activities went to the wrecks and how.

Otherwise a great day, would love to go back for longer!

I felt on holiday despite of the cloudy weather we had heaps of fun kayaking around the wreck. For roughly 40 minutes I was in awe of the array of fish scattered throughout the wrecks. We pic nicnon the beach and chilled at the coffee shop ... Easy, good, great.

Kayak, sand sledding and snorkeling with my son was excellent. The weather was really hot in Feb, but I would suggest you try sand sledding. You will get amazing picture in your life. Photographer Kim was great!
Don't forget snorkeling. Our team leader, instructor, Isabel who was awesome to lead us. Even it was really scary to get into the sea, she led us well. Really thanks to her.

Go up
