Can’t recommend these guys enough. I reached out to about 5 companies to help me with my Landcruiser build. They were the only ones who actually replied. Super helpful in making my wish list for the truck. Phase 1 was to get an awning, power and a roof top tent. We ordered the tent from iCamper that was delayed in shipment to Australia and the guys pulled out all the stops to source a different tent last minute and then they pulled an all nighter to get it installed before my trip. I got an email from the boys with photos of the truck all setup as stupid o’clock in the morning after they worked through the night.

Can’t thank the guys enough for the mammoth effort they put in to get the truck ready in time so I dropped a box of beers off the next day with a few pineapples to say thanks to the lads for grinding out the fit out until the wee hours of the morning.

Brendan and the team at Adventure Merchants got me back on the road in time for my Vic high country weekend. They sent out some hardware to refit my feldon shelter and it couldn’t have been easier. Nico is an absolute magician with the spanners. He overhauled the front swivels, shackle rubbers and springs on my 1959 Series 2 shorty. Also solved oil leaks from axle oil seals and replaced wheel bearings front and rear. Lovely work and timely. I saw the other jobs in the shop including complete restorations with disc brake and power steering conversions on elderly series cars. I have no hesitation in recommending Adventure Merchants. I recently went to Adventure Merchants for a fit out of my Nissan Pathfinder. I could not be happier with the end product and service I received from Michael, Brendan and Nico. They explained options, quotes and how to use the products in detail and maintained consistent friendly communication throughout the process. I was so happy with the service and quality that I went back to them soon after for a lift kit. I will definitely be going back to Adventure Merchants for any future work on the car and cannot recommend them highly enough.

UPDATE - October 2024

I wanted to provide an updated review as these guys have continued to provide exceptional service since they fitted my car out 3 years ago. Recently, my auxillary battery died after a mechanic blew a fuse when installing a new car battery. I only became aware of the issue when I was about to set off on a Saturday morning for a camping trip. I called adventure merchants and they were more than happy to help. I took the car to the shop where Brendan quickly found the issue, replaced the fuse and jump started the auxillary battery, getting us on the road for our trip. He was a lifesaver! I will continue to recommend adventure merchants to all of my friends.

These guys are great, so helpful and knowledgable, and focussed on making sure you have the right setup for what you want to do rather than just trying to sell you stuff. Michael and the team went above and beyond with a tricky fitting for our tent, fantastic service.

Not sure about the quality of their installations or products but their customer service in relation to enquiries is as useful as a screen door on a submarine. If there was a negative 5-star review option i would click it in a heartbeat.

I call up and get told yeah just shoot us an email we'll go from there. Their customer service is practically non-existent, been emailing about some drawers to be installed and i sound like a crazy ex-girlfriend trying to GIVE them business. Looking back on the email chain, it is just me talking to myself asking "whats the next step?" "Yep i'm happy with the quote, whats the next step".

I don't even why you have an email if you're practically going to ignore them. Should've just made up an email in the contact info so the email just bounces back to me at least I get a response that way from the email server.

I was looking to fit out my Navara in preparation of a 10 month road trip with the family. I reached out to a couple of places, but Adventure Merchants were the only ones that took the time to really understand what we were trying to do with the trip. I am not an experienced person understanding all the electrical, living off grid etc, but the advice on all requirements was superb. When I got the quote, it was on the higher end of my budget. But looking at what they were putting into my fit out, they were using quality components. I have now been on the trip for 1 month. Anything that Adventure Merchants have installed has not missed a beat. While the cost may have been a little more, when you have your family off grid, you want to have peace of mind you have gear you can rely upon. Can’t recommend any more. Thanks for all your help.
