Julian and Jane were excellent hosts, very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, with a little Scottish influence which was well received. The rooms were neat and very cosy. The shower was amazing. Great atmosphere, beautiful views. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the the Barossa Valley and gave us some helpful hints about what to see and where to dine. Very enjoyable stay. Thanks Julian and Jane. Tania and Baillie.

My partner and I booked into Abbotsford Country House for a last-minute, long weekend getaway and we were pleasantly surprised with the level of hospitality. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jane and Sarge (the family Golden Retriever) and immediately felt at-ease. Our room was very tastefully decorated, with a generous double-headed shower. Every morning Jane and Julian provided a hearty, restaurant-quality cooked breakfast and provided excellent recommendations for wineries in the area. Also, the view from the back of the property was a great place to watch the sunset across the Barossa (as pictured). Overall, our experience was personal and memorable. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful location for a quiet escape having spent 3 nights in this country home. Spacious room with stunning views. Port and food platter a nice touch. Living room in main house amazing. Julian an excellent friendly host who has lots of tales to tell. Cooked a substantial tasty breakfast each morning so thank you. However it’s the attention to detail that lets this property down, which is a shame. Cobwebs on door, dusty throughout, no hot water on first day (however was fixed). No servicing of room but managed. It’s the little things that contribute to making an experience 5 star. Looks like the property is up for sale so that may be is the answer.

With one night to spare travelling through the Barossa Valley, we booked this B&B and very pleased with our stay. It is named a Country House and is more a beautiful homestead in a great location with fantastic views. Although we did not utilise the big lounge room, I could imagine us sitting in front of the open fire sipping red wines from the region and discussing the next days itinerary. After waking up in our cosy room, it was down to the homestead for a hearty breakfast cooked by our host Jane. A fantastic breaky option of small or LARGE whichever way you want it, cooked in a fabulous country house kitchen with a view to savour.||Highly recommend a stay at Abbotsford Country House.

Beautiful spacious period Suites. Very generous extras such as port wine and cheese and crackers that are complimentary. Linen super. We were a little anxious about no TV but found we had no real need for it. It’s easy to fill a day in the Valley. Food prepared by Jane absolutely delicious. Julian and Jane are excellent friendly knowledgeable hosts. Loved staying here taxis easily available to go to dinner. Sinéad

Just got home from the Barossa, having stayed at Abbotsford Country House for 4 nights. Julian greeted us as we drove up the driveway telling us where to park. The room was your typical country style , with chocolates & a decanter of port for your consumption. The room is big with a large bathroom & deep bath tub. My husband & I enjoyed our stay, admittedly I was surprised not to see a tv at first but I got over it quick as I soaked in the sprawling valley of vineyards & the black hefer cows grazing in the foreground who I would chat to going in & out of the property! The main house has a lovely lounge area & is very pleasant! Breakfast every morning in the dining room was great, chatting to Julian plus meeting overseas visitors was a highlight! The Barossa is a wonderful place, tasty wine with plenty cellar doors to visit , we did 4 days back to back wine tasting & we visited at least 5 or more a day & still we probably just scraped the surface. Thanks Julian & Jane had a delightful stay ! (Say bye to Beldy for me!)

Jane and Julian are terrific hosts at this very spacious property . The rooms are large , well equipped and quiet . Excellent breakfast cooked by Jane and terrific advice about the Barossa Valley which is stunning and has plenty of interesting features , not just wine tasting . The owners welcome you very warmly , creating a delightfully relaxed atmosphere and a lot of fun

Just recently for my partners 70th birthday we stayed for two nights at an absolute gem in Abbotsford Country House in the beautiful Barossa Valley.
Our gracious and beautiful hosts Jane and Julian what a gorgeous pair with impeccable PR skills.
Nothing was too much trouble for them and we both really appreciated the wonderful extras we received.
The scrumptious breakfast cooked by Jane WOW so yummy.
An extra special bonus also were the three beautiful Golden Retrievers they have. It certainly added an extra special part of our stay.
The property the stunning views and the beautiful room it was an absolute pleasure to have stayed there.
Thank you again Jane and Julian you are indeed the most gracious friendly and wonderful hosts and we will certainly be visiting and staying again at your beautiful property.
