Where do I start… this evening was just so disappointing! The only positive note was being with friends and the pleasant balcony setting.
First of all we ordered beers , wine and 1 margarita. We had time for 2 rounds and wait for about 30 minutes before the margarita arrived, not even chilled!
The meals…a calamari salad that was ok and a fish and chips (cold) arrived. We requested warm chips but the New ones were not warm either.
We had to wait another 20 minutes for the other two meals to arrive : 1 seafood basket with 1 prawn and 1 calamari to go with a very heavily battered fish. The $34 small barramundi fillet was badly cooked, the mash potato had lumps in it and was cold.
It looked like hospital food.
The waitress tried to justify it by saying people like their mash in different ways, really?
She also said she was sorry but « they were really busy »! 3 tables in total with the people who arrived after us getting their meal way before us.
They need to get their act together and bring back what used to be a great place for a pub meal.
It looked like the waiters were on their first everything shift.

Proper takeaway fish and chips!

The most English style fish and chips you’ll get in Sydney me thinks.
Fish - very tasty. crispy fresh batter. Solid portion
Chips - unreal. Thick cut. Not them weird yellow chips.
Sauces - curry sauce and mushy peas. A rare find d’under. Hit the spot

Thought we'd grab a quick bite to eat... however after looking for a clean table to sit at....
And then watching how 'quickly' these got cleaned.. NOT
No wonder of the 200+ seats only a dozen were filled.
Also this is on a sunny public holiday ? when we have the delight of an extra 10% surcharge..

Should be renamed IVAN-NO!

The staff tried their best - no criticism of them. But the food took 40 minutes to arrive, didn’t all come together do some had finished eating by the time others got their meal, orders were incomplete, and when we got to eat it, it was very disappointing. Every plate (there were 6 of us) was poor or barely edible. On the upside the (first floor) room was almost empty so it wasn’t too noisy.

Do better. Order was Rump steak chips & salad (see pic). Was blamed on they got hacked the night before? Couple, Table across from me recieved wrong food to their table. I have no more words.

Looks great upstairs and the bar staff are friendly.
Food however is below average and recommended anywhere else.
The pizza was on a pre made base, the fish was covered in a thick batter, the chips were cold and the calamari was obviously from a frozen packet.
