I am finishing a trip today with Encounter Travel doing The Colours Of Morocco for the last 2 and a half weeks. What an AMAZING experience!!!! It is my first trip with Encounter and definitely won’t be my last. Karim, our guide, was the most knowledgeable, kind and professional person who made our trip super special. The places we visited were unbelievable, so diverse and memorable. I thoroughly recommend Encounter to anyone who is a solo traveller wishing to experience the best a country has to offer!!!!!

On a recent Japan tour they subcontracted the tour to a local Japanese company. The guide barely spoke English and communication was difficult. The little information about what we were seeing and where we were going was so difficult to understand, most of us gave up trying to interpret it. The tour was expensive , so this was very disappointing. The company at first was completely dismissive of our concerns.
Edit: since posting this review the operator has reached out to make amends, which is a good thing. Pity it took a public review to get a response but now I am moderately happy with the outcome and I have edited the review accordingly.

I booked 18 day Colours of Morocco solo tour, 40+ through Encounter. It was my first overseas trip as a solo traveller and it has given me confidence to do it again. The company was prompt and efficient providing information before and during the booking period. There was sufficient information provided. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful and obliging. The itinerary was good with some faster paced days and some more at leisure. I would use Encounter Travel again.

My husband went on a motorbike tour without me, so I went to Norfolk Island with Encounter Travel without him :). I had a wonderful holiday and can't recommend Justine and Encounter Travel highly enough! Every day was action packed with a diverse range of tours, walks and yummy food. One of the highlights of the trip for me was meeting such a lovely group of people. It was so interesting talking and sharing new experiences with such a fun group of like minded people. I'm encouraging my husband to book another motorbike tour, so I can book my next adventure with Encounter Travel!!!

Just back from a wonderful trip to Norfolk Island arranged by Encounter Travel for solo travellers. The team at Encounter made booking the tour so easy and once there everything ran smoothly. The guides on the daily activities were friendly and informative. The accommodation was great as were our hosts and best of all our group of 12 travellers got along famously, and by the end of dinner on our first night it felt more like a trip with friends than a travel group of strangers. I will be happy to book another trip with Encounter Travel as soon as I decide on my next destination.

I have done 3 Resort trips with Encounter Travel in the past 5 years (Thailand, Bali and Fiji) and each one has been fabulous. Justine and her staff at Encounter are so helpful and professional, doing everything to create 5-Star holidays for singles of all ages. If you are thinking of travelling solo, don’t hesitate, I can highly recommend Encounter as a way of travelling to wonderful destinations, as adventurous or as relaxing as you would like. I have been on 3 Encounter Trips as a solo traveller and would highly recommend them! The consultants are friendly and easy to contact and they really make sure all the details for the trip are covered, especially with visas. I have made some lovely new friends and have had some amazing experiences which I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. My most recent Encounter trip was to China and I'm still telling people about it! The cruise I went on was also lots of fun. On each of the Encounter trips I have been on, the groups have been friendly and welcoming and the group leader has been fabulous. Don't hesitate - Encounter is a great travel agency specifically looking out for us singles!
