Just wanted to say that last night’s dinner was a truly delectable feast. The soup was delicious - in fact if you have any left over I would love some to freeze. The chicken was to die for and the potato wedges and beans were the perfect accompaniment. I am saving the left over gravy juices to have over mashed potato! And the tart - heavenly. And we all remarked on how light the pastry was, melted in your mouth. If I ever get brave enough to have a dinner party for 8, guess what!!
It will be a hard act to follow.

It is absolutely worth making an appointment to “taste and talk” with Peter at Nicholson Fine Foods. Don’t let the low key location fool you as there are so many delightful products to sample ,served up with a great deal of knowledge along with various plating suggestions. There is such a range of both sweet and savoury options made with quality ingredients and huge attention is given to using local or Australian elements. From delicious hot chocolate mixes and fruit pastes to sophisticated finishing vinegars and tongue tingling Habanero concoctions you will be spoilt for choice and will leave with some useful insights from a generous and informative host.

What a wonderful surprise this place was! When you see little signs saying “fresh prawn rolls”, follow them and don’t delay! This was the MOST EXQUISITE PRAWN ROLL in our whole lives!!! We had the prawn banh mi roll and the prawn and mango roll. Both fresh and beautifully balanced flavours. The chocolate profiteroles are also delish! We will definitely be back! The owners were so friendly and hospitable, they have beautiful products to purchase. Highly recommend.

If you’re a food lover and in Yamba head to Nicholson Fine Foods. Peter, who is the owner, is welcoming and generous with tips on how to use his amazing array of vinegars, pearls and sauces. Definitely worth making an appointment with a few friends. And, if you love spicy food try the new Habanero sauce. It’s unbelievably good!
