Costa Do Sol - Dulwich Hill, New South Wales

This was our second time visiting Costa do Sol our first visit was back when they were located in Petersham. This time we came to the new location in Dulwich Hill, which is spacious and has a more modern, minimalist feel.

The food was just as good as we remembered, which is what keeps bringing us back. That said, the customer service could really use some improvement. On both occasions, we were served by the same waiter, who unfortunately came across as quite serious and unwelcoming especially during our first visit.

While we genuinely enjoy the food and the overall atmosphere, a warmer and more attentive service would make the experience even better.

I heard a lot about this place and glad they moved to Dulwich Hill.

We didn't have a booking but they were able to accommodate us on a busy evening.

The waiter was super busy but really nice and did his best.

The food was delicious and very well seasoned. A little on the salty side for me but still very yummy. The chicken skewers was really nice with the Peri Peri sauce. The serving size is very generous so come hungry.

We have eaten here a few times, the food is reasonably priced and good quality. We paired our meal with Sangria which was very nice and worth and they if you’re in town. Overall a good experience.

This was our first visit to the new location and we were delighted that all the thing's we've enjoyed over the last 20 years are still going strong. The new restaurant is lovely and on street parking wasn't a problem.We went for lunch and the specials remain wonderful value, lovely fresh ingredients and very generous servings. The garlic prawns are excellent and it's hard to find better anywhere!! We had the grilled chicken breast ( big, lean and juicy ), and the T bone steak, perfectly cooked to medium, as ordered. The chips are salad are tasty and crisp, service is friendly and efficient. We love that it's also allows BYO, as well as being licenced, so we think it's well worth the drive from Gladesville .

We arrived at the restaurant, slid the door open and stepped into a rustic looking, cozy small restaurant. We were shown to our table and complimentary dinner rolls were provided. The wait staff was not very friendly but was always attentive.
We ordered the garlic prawns as entree, this is a MUST have.
For mains we had the seafood platter, the bacalau regional and chicken skewer.
When the seafood platter arrived, I was surprised that the kids gave their nod of approval with a satisfying "mmm...". That was enough for me to know that the dinner was going to be good.
The bacalau arrived soon after and we were surprised by the size of the fish. It was a very large dish. The fish was very good and yummy. We loved the texture of the fish.
The chicken skewers is a Must have. It was tender and tasty. Just beautiful.
We had a great dinner to celebrate a birthday and we will return.
It was also great to see a small group of older folks sitting in the backyard playing cards. I can imagine that is what they do in Portugal. This must be like home to them.

Food was very delicious. Sangria was great. I really enjoyed the garlic prawns was a highlight. Chicken with mushroom was very good too. Waiter was excellent - very prompt service and managed all tables by himself very well. Well done

Great dinner at Costa. Me and my partner loved it. Felt like my grandmas cooking. Only thing we weren’t happy with was that the octopus was a little over. The skewers are huge and so tasty !

Succulent beautiful chicken skewer. Hubby kept raving about the chicken skewer he had so I decided to try it for myself. It did not disappoint. Large serving of potatoes, salad and chicken. Was so succulent, moist and tasty. Not overly salty like the other Portuguese restaurants. Great value for $25. We then also decided to try the lunch special chicken breast which was $14. Generous portion and while very tasty, not as succulent as on the skewer. However for $14 can't complain. Great value. Recommend coming here if you want a tasty reasonable meal. Not crowded and lady waitress was friendly. We will be back with friends and family 🤤 also do yourself a favour and use the bread to mop up the juices of the chicken at the bottom of the plate. If you used a bread to soak the juice at the bottom of the skewer, eat it. 🤤
