Get a glimpse of Ben Chifley’s (and his wife, mostly) life in Bathurst. Plenty of artifact and memorabilia from when they lived in this house. Too bad I didnt take pictures from inside the house during tour, thinking that i could go back myself. They closed all doors and I cant roam freely.

Beautiful, simple and modest home. The tour guide did show how much this small city is proud of the former prime minister.

No other amenities around, so come in prepared. Recommended to spend an hour at this place.

A little treasure. Important place to visit to learn about a time when Australian politics was just a bit different than today. This was the humble home of Ben Chifley all through his time as Prime Minister, not The Lodge! Reminds me of my grandparents home, with the original appliances. Great your guide - so very informative and an obvious passion for preserving an important landmark.

Surprisingly excellent one hour experience visiting a piece of Australia’s history - we learnt so much about former PM Ben Chifley and his wife Elizabeth, the way they lived and his contribution as leader. Our guide Lynette was very knowledgeable and engaging. We loved the rare opportunity to play a pianola in the lounge room. Highly recommended for adults and children alike.

Staff were super knowledgeable and welcoming. Ed Centre is well thought out and easy to navigate. Visiting the Chifley house itself was really cool when you see the room Ben, as Prime Minister, worked in. Much different to the modern day.

Great to see a mid-20th century suburban home preserved. Guide was very enthusiastic and great with the kids (8-12) which kept them enthralled. Well recommend for the family.

From the moment we walked into the museum, we were greeted by the hosts the service from start to finish of the tour was exemplary. Ben Chifley and his wife Elizabeth had a life without austentatiousness. Walking into the house brought back instant memories of my childhood, I must be getting old! The copper, wringer and sewing machine was used by my mother on a daily basis. I shall be back to spend more time there in the near future. A museum not to be missed.

This home and education centre provides great insight into the daily lives of the Chifley’s and a useful overview of Ben Chifley’s political life. It is very well set up to make any visit easy and enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and able to provide lots of information about the Chifley’s and their home.
