This cafes food is sensational, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic and did I say the food was sensational. The best breakfast burger I have had and their coffee is great to. Thanks very much will definitely be back.

A hidden gem! You would drive past this place if you didn't know it was there. Thanks to the nice lady at Woody Head kiosk for the recommendation. She said people from the Gold Coast come down for the food. After trying I'd believe it. I had the tempura bowl $26 and amazing value - a flavour journey and enough to fill even a very hungry caterpillar. Beautiful views,amazing food, good service. What else can you ask for. I'll be back every time I'm in Iluka, and might even make a detour just for this.

First let's get the important bit said: Make a reservation to avoid disappointment!

We hiked along the beach, up to the lookout and back today so agreed to spoil ourselves with a nice meal. A quick Google Maps search turned up this place and we did another walk across town to get there. As we were approaching, a group of four asked if we had a reservation. We said no as it was spur of the moment and they told us it was fully booked. We went and checked anyway and we're super lucky to get a table for 2 but we would need to leave at 7 due to some reservations arriving. Our meals were fantastic. We had a burger and sashimi plate, brownie, a couple of beers and glasses of wine and it all came to $112AUD. The place was rocking and the staff were super busy but seemed to stay on top of everything. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining area which adds to the nice vibe. There was a beautiful sunset as we were eating. Only downside was if you don't like heat it can get a bit warm from the sun. We had to finish our drinks outside as the reservations showed up at 7 as we were told. No big deal and we would highly recommend this place.

Authentic Japanese food made by Japanese.
Fresh and unique ingredient combination that really works.
Crunchy rectangular chips with soft/firm inside, not soggy. The sauce and sprinkles on the chip, again unique and really works.
Tell me if you know a place that has all these, great fresh Japanese food, beer, coffee, 5 meters to the water, great view, pat-able water dragon at your feet.
All that at lunch time, imagine having an early dinner with the sun setting over the river.

Absolutely delicious food, the local prawns were perfectly cooked and the fish was super fresh and crispy. The portion sizes are generous as well. This cafe completely surpassed my expectations.

Thought we would try because the menu and reviews sounded amazing. Arrived at 11:30 to beat the lunchtime rush but 80% of tables had reserved signs for 12:30pm. We thought we would sit at one of the tables and leave within an hour so the table was free again. 40 minutes until our burgers came so we requested to take away instead. Had to wait longer for the 2 small serves of chips. Not worth the $80 IMO. The kaarage had great flavour but full of fat, the chips tasted like the oil could probably do with a change too. Maybe it was an off day? Fantastic location though.
