Beautiful little cottage, I finally visited this place, I’ve known about this place for a while but have never had the time to visit.
We did a tour with a lovely informative lady, I didn’t catch her name but she explained told us all about the history of May Gibbs’ and the beautiful home. The cottage is preserved very well, almost like a step back in time, I would definitely come back to here to explore the place properly and the gift shop has beautiful items of everything from souvenirs to linens and children’s wear.

A great place to visit with very friendly and passionate staffs, the house tour gives you a full story on the life of May Gibb, her inspirations, her struggles and how her brilliant works come about. No photos allowed in the house (for copyright reasons) and the house entry is only via the guided tour so please check before your visit, there is no parking around the house so best to come via public transport.

To make a half day trip for it, arrive by train, hop off at the Milson Point train station, grab some brunch if necessary (Nutcote opens at 11am and the first house tour starts almost right away), takes a leisurely walk (around 1.6 km - 20 mins), arrive at Nutcote by 11am. After the visit (roughly around 1.5 hours), get some lunch around Neutral Bay Ferry Wharf (recommended an excellent and cheap Thai restaurant - Ta Ta Thai) and take a ferry back to Circular Quay.

The suburb of Neutral Bay where the house is located is stunning so please allow some extra time to explore.
