It genuinely pains me to write this review after having frequented Sud numerous times in the past.
When you walk in they display a certificate as one of the top Italian restaurants in the world. I'm sorry to say, I wouldn't rate it as such.
We had an early booking for Mother's Day dinner and the main restaurant was not completely full. (This is very strange as this place was always busy)
I had to ask 5x for our drinks as food started to arrive but drinks were nowhere to be seen. I was told 1 hour into opening on a peak night, there was no sparkling water. When I repeatedly asked for my girls apple juice, they couldn't drink it once they came because there was white stuff floating in it.
It was heartbreaking to see every table complaining that their orders hadn't arrived. Many people left full plates of food on the table and left.
The 2 servers were clearly confused, didn't understand the Italian menu names and the lady doing the drinks- well, she looked like she was just as lost. I question where she had an RSA.
The food was clearly not made by Italians and not made with love.
The garlic pizza had bitter full garlic pieces. It was almost inedible (we hesitantly ate it because we were starving).
Paccheri Pasta was undercooked, not Al dente, the crab pasta looked like it was canned crab not fresh crab pieces. The Margherita pizza sauce had no seasoning and it was very sad. As did every dish.
My $42 2x lamb cutlets with chat potatoes were the smallest I have ever been served. Again, no seasoning and not cooked with love.
To their credit, they did give us a complementary soft drink and arancini.
On a peak night like Mother's Day, I truly believed to receive an amazing level of service. Alas, it was not to be and without one Italian person either cooking or serving, it means that we will not return. Not the last memory of this once great local I wanted to have.

Southern Italian Hidden Gem in Concord I
From crispy calamari fritti to cheesy arancini balls, spicy Diavola pizza, and saucy pasta Alla Norma everything was delicious!
And the desserts were superb!
Warm cuzzoli (Italian doughnuts) drizzled with Nutella was amazing and the Cannolo Siciliano stuffed with sweet ricotta and lemon zest were so creamy and tasty.
Was a great night with delicious food

Nice atmosphere and good vibes!

The beverage costs were very reasonable

Had entree as meatball and Calamari, and they were decent.

Didnt enjoy much for Barramundi...The fish smell was too strong. Pasta sauce was very good but lamp was kinda too tough.

I might come back another time soon for trying different food

Please take a moment to read my review below. If you’re hoping for a nice evening with good food and honest service, do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant!

This was our first and definitely last visit. If I could give zero stars, I would.

We went to this restaurant around 7:30 PM last night on the long weekend, surprisingly to find it not very busy. We were handed menus and decided to order a pasta, a pizza, a steak, and a salad. When we inquired about the “catch of the day” for the seafood pasta, we were told they didn’t have any fish — only prawns. When I asked for clarification (since prawns were already part of the dish), the staff said they’d just add extra prawns instead. So, basically, no variety — just prawn pasta.

It didn’t stop there. We were told they were out of steak, had no rocket for the salad, and couldn’t make any pizzas because they were out of stock. Every item we asked about was unavailable. The reason? They had a busy lunch service — which was their excuse for being out of nearly everything by dinner time.

We were starving and had made a point to enjoy a nice dinner out, but the night was completely ruined. If the kitchen had no stock, why stay open or hand out a full menu instead of informing guests upfront about the limited options?

The service was just as disappointing. Not a single apology or acknowledgment of the poor experience as we left. The woman at the front, who seemed like the manager, didn’t even say a word.

I’ve heard there’s been a change of ownership — and it really shows. The attitude, the service, and the whole experience were simply unacceptable. What a shame for the restaurant and the loyal customers it once had.

My rating is a big ZERO!!!!!!!

We were overall happy with the service, the lady that seemed to be the manager was helpful at recommending dishes.
The dishes were filling and delicious.

We were seated near the register. I believe the young waiter was still learning, and the lady was getting frustrated about the way he was doing some of the tasks. It’s okay to feel that way but it should be more discrete and done at the back if things are getting emotional. They were speaking French but I could understand everything as I speak the language and was at ear shot.

We drove 45 minutes to get to this place. The food was okay, I got the prawns which had to be cooked fresh so I got a nice hot meal. There were people in our party who got cold meals. One of our party got the meatballs and they were cold, her salad looked dry and she said there was a bit of dressing at the bottom and it didn't have the shaved pears or parmesan on it. A couple got the fish of the day and they served it dry with roast potatoes and when they asked for sauce the staff pretended they had not forgotten to add it or maybe they thought they would get away without adding it (who knows) and halfway through thier meal they got a sauce that did not appear as described on the menu.
I was expecting lovely food and service, but I was disappointed as it seems they could not cope with about 20 people on a Wednesday night. It was not the best experience. Next time, I'll stick to somewhere close to home.

It’s been over a year since we came to Sud after having had a great experience in the past. Unfortunately the restaurant has new management and new menu. Service was slow and we waited over almost an hour to get our entree bruschetta which was soggy with a stale bread despite only having 4 dine in tables at 5.30 pm. We had to get our pasta and pizza to take away as we could not wait any longer waiting with a fussy toddler. The pizza of sausage and mixed mushroom looked poorly thrown together with pieces of beef as “sausages” which are tough to chew. Final bill came to $99, which was so overpriced for 1 entree, 1 pasta, 1 pizza and kids pasta. Sud is a dud unfortunately.
