I had an urgent surgery after going to the Emergency department and was impressed by the very high standard of care by nurses and doctors from Emergency to discharge. Without a doubt, the best hospital in all of Sydney. The quality of service is top-notch and simply amazing.The doctors and nurses are highly trained and lovely, please keep up the amazing work! I came in for day surgery at Concord Hospital and everyone from the reception, nurses, doctors, anaesthetist and surgeon that I dealt with were so warm, accommodating and friendly. The level of detail in their communication was simply outstanding and their bedside manner was very authentic. Healthcare workers don’t often get the recognition that they deserve, especially given the sheer stress of their work (dealing with the general public can be a nightmare). I was very impressed. Thank you for making this experience seamless.

To the ladies at the front desk that validate parking tickets and are the face of the hospital where grieving people are coming in and out expecting some compassion or at least for them to be half decent Humans are absolutely disgusting rude and arrogant. Only one woman has always smiled and been invitingand that is the dark woman with curly hair. All others including the mail are despicable and needs to be replaced immediately.

I went to emergency with severe abdominal pain and let the doctors know I had an umbilical hernia. After hours waiting, they said it was nothing and to go home. I insisted that something had to be wrong and that I was in a lot of pain. After seeing 4 doctors, they finally told me I needed surgery to repair the hernia. This has on Tuesday night. They booked the surgery for Friday and told me that I would need to stay for 1 night after the surgery. A few hours after the surgery they sent me home instead, despite being in a lot of pain and feeling faint every time I tried to get up. The next night I ended up in emergency again because I was bleeding through my dressing and believed my stitches had opened. I have been waiting in emergency for 2 hours in a chair. I’ve asked for a bed because I’m in too much pain sitting down, and they said there’s no beds and that I just need to wait. They’ve given me medication and left me waiting.

I have been treated at several hospitals across Sydney, but my experience at Concord Hospital stands out as the best. The level of care and compassion shown by every nurse and doctor involved in my procedure and recovery was truly exceptional.

Before my surgery, Shainaaz noticed I was cold—even though I hadn’t said anything—and kindly brought me a warm blanket, going out of her way to make me comfortable. Dr. C. Joyce was incredibly personable, taking the time to ask about what time I needed to wake up for surgery and where I lived. His attention to these small details made me feel seen and valued, not just like another patient.

Joy was amazing in the care she provided both before and after surgery. When I felt lightheaded, she was more than happy to let me stay a bit longer, even though I had already been cleared to leave. Mina was equally thoughtful during my recovery—she removed my catheter so gently, using an alcohol wipe to protect my skin, which I had never experienced before.

Every single staff member went the extra mile to ensure my comfort and well-being. Thank you all for your outstanding care and dedication—it made a world of difference.

My experience at the ED on the 07July2025 was nothing but extremely satisfying. From the paramedics (Rena & Holly) to the Triage nurse Helen to the attending ED doctor Dr.James Xavier (Resident Medical Officer) all of them were so understanding and caring.

Their detailed probing into my symptoms just to rule out any ‘nasties’ was so reassuring. Dr James Xavier performed a thorough physical examination before administering the necessary treatment. Truly a great doctor. Thank you James, Helen and rest of the staff who were behind the scene too.

A couple staff are definitely human the doctors and reg nurses leave a lot to be desired. The general medical staff shortages really show in the high stress levels of staff and reduced empathy. Again not all people there are like that just the ones that know people need them. DFO isn’t very subtle. I would surmise that it means drugged/drunk fell over?

Cant rate this hospital highly enough. I came with an injury to A&E. Traige dealt with me immediately, I was then passed to a doctor and brought to a ward relatively quickly. Seen by a surgeon and booked in for a small surgery. Required an overnight stay and every nurse, doctor or surgeon I dealt with were amazing. Cant thank all the staff enough, made a challenging situation much easier to deal with. Thank you
