Sixty Foot Falls offers a range of activities for visitors to enjoy, including hiking and picnicking. The hiking trail is relatively easy and suitable for most fitness levels, winding through the beautiful forest and leading to the stunning waterfall. The waterfall itself is a breathtaking sight, with crystal-clear waters cascading down a rocky cliff face.

While the signage at the start of the hike can be a bit lacking, many visitors have found that using GPS or simply starting at the closed boom-gated road on Leopold Street leads them to the trailhead. Once on the trail, visitors are treated to a peaceful walk along the Nattai River, surrounded by lush forest and the sounds of nature.

However, some visitors have noted that signage can be lost towards the end of the trail, requiring them to navigate through some overgrown shrubbery to reach the waterfall. Despite this, the effort is well worth it, as the waterfall and the billabong below are truly stunning.

It is recommended that visitors wear good hiking boots, as the fire trail can be uneven and rocky in places. With a little effort, Sixty Foot Falls is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the area.

There’s barely any signage for the start of this hike, our GPS took us the wrong way.
Just start at the closed boom gated road at Leopald St and walk from there.

Most of the walk is along the Nattai river with good lush forest views. Then again signage is lost and you’ll need to go through some overgrown shrub to make it through to the waterfall. The waterfall and below billabong were very pleasant to see. I recommend good hiking boots as the fire trail is unlevelled as with all fire trails.

Follow the signed fire trail, not Google maps. A beautiful spot, just watch your step on the Rocks as it can be slippery.

Start from the fire trail and easy to moderate to the bottom of the falls.

A good clear, wide track as it's a fire trail.
Not much signage.
A minute or two's drive from the CBD/main street.
We didn't see the waterfall as we took a wrong turn due to little signage. We did see two small waterfalls along the main track on the way back.
If you get to a cliff overlooking the highway you've gone too far. If this happens, you go back the way you came and then take the left where it's signposted 'sixty foot track' and then before you go up the hill you take a left just near the river.
We went two different ways which we're wrong before working out the correct way to the falls.
Nice bird sounds and peaceful spot. Can hear the highway in the distance.
No nearby bathrooms.
Some loose rocks on slopes to be careful of.

Baggage. This is 1.5km walk. I wanted to just drop in and quick look. Maps suggested that but it's NOT true. Looks like 1.5km walk past a locked fire road which we could not drive down as was suggested on maps.

I just rated 4/5 based on it already being that stars.

If you have them time looks like a nice walk and such, but can not say to that myaelf.

Took my mate for a hike on Sunday, 31Β°C and first hard trail hike for them but it was a great memory made!

Only downside was lack of signange, distance-wise, otherwise falls trail directions were clear.

I'd like to know and perhaps wander on the alternate tracks in the future, but it was therapeutic and enjoyable! 😌

After the rains, the route to the falls has taken a bit of a battering. There will be some muddy sections, and a small creek to cross which can be a little slippery. Plenty of overgrowth covering some of the path through. Not so well sign posted so worth being careful. Depending on which route you take, getting to the bottom of the falls can be a little challenging, however the pools at the top of the falls are also very refreshing, and the views from the top are great!

Nice walk to the falls. Around 3km return. Involves a steep descent at the beginning which is your finishing ascent on the return. Just need to watch your footing. May be slippery after rain.
