A charming park near Tuggeranong town center offers numerous picnic tables, some BBQs, public toilets, and a playground. Additionally, it features a delightful river beach with interesting rocks to explore. While the beach area isn’t wheelchair accessible, the picnic tables might be reachable if the wheelchair can navigate grass easily. It’s a serene spot with plenty of shade and sunny patches, highly recommended for a peaceful outing. Some say you can walk to Point Hut from here, though I didn’t try it myself

Okay easy walk. But the trail is narrow and not for wheel chairs. Plenty of car parking. Old and young trees and some flowers. Quiet. We saw some birds including an Eastern Spinebill.

Become part of a good size group of volunteers who spend the morning cleaning up after the party goes last night! Pine Island is clean ready for family & friends to enjoy...

Old Pine Island Reserve has changed a lot of the years some parts for the better, some parts for the worse!

The worst is people and their rubbish as there are no bins anymore, which there used to be. It's sad as it is a beautiful part of Tuggeranong with the Murrumbidgee river running by.

Now, please don't be put off because of my first comment as the place has changed for the better by the amount of BBQ areas and tables, and the government organisation does mower the area and the grass is kept at a good length,

There is access to the Murrumbidgee river in several places, but be careful in summer with some of the biggest eastern brown snakes I've seen live around Pine Island...

The Murrumbidgee river is pretty clean to swim in, but it paids to check with the local government about flooding and the water quality, there some little sandy areas to kick back...

You can find toilet blocks here both the northern end and the southern end of Pune Island, + there are some good tracks to walk along!

There is a small but good little playground area with slides rope climbing, etc...
The northern end is a large area to play cricket or football with a group of friends...

There is a locked gate at the entrance, which is unlocked early in the morning and locked in late evenings. This part was never here when we visited here growing up.

Very nice place, easy walks, easy access to the river, several barbecues and restrooms. Lots of tables for picnic. Lots of wildlife, kangaroos and several birds. It doesn't have drinking water and garbage bins. Please take your rubbish with you, it's sad to see people leaving rubbish behind, specially near the river.

Awesome day for a walk. Didn't know about the mtb track, so the next visit, the bike will tag along. BBQs everywhere, one lot was under cover. Plenty of tables/chairs, and heaps of space to have an extended fam cook up, right on the river.

Beautiful park close to tuggeranong town centre. Lots of picnic tables, a few bbqs, public toilets and a playground. Also has a gorgeous little river beach with fun rocks to walk on. The beach area is not wheelchair accessible but the picnic tables might be if the wheelchair can easily navigate grass. Such a tranquil place with lots of shade and sunny spots. Highly recommended. Apparently can walk to point hut but I did not attempt this 🙂
