Outstanding work by the serving and kitchen staff this evening. Friendly service and super quick preparation of very tasty, solid meals. Really good portion sizes. Topped off a lovely day in this beautiful place.

We went here for dinner one night. I got a steak and my husband got a schnitzel. you go to the counter to order and pay, but they bring the meal to the table when its ready.. its standard pub fare, but good pub fare. nice atmosphere with an older appearing dining hall with cool historic photos on the walls.
also appears to do takeaway for certain meals.

My partner and myself have eaten there several times recently on a Saturday early evening before going to see a movie. Mostly we’ve found the food is pretty good and we’ve tried a few different dishes. Their chips are good. Sometimes the vegies are underdone and quite hard, especially broccoli. The only consistent negative in all our visits there is the Lemon, Lime & Bitters drinks. They use barely any bitters and no fresh lemon or lime garnishes. None of the staff seem to know how to make a good one. Last night I took my own bottle of bitters and cut up lemon and lime and added to our drinks. Considering how abundant citrus is on the tablelands, there’s no excuse to be frugal with garnishes in drinks.

Unfortunately when we (locals) visited with our elderly clients for lunch on Friday May 2, 2025, we were greeted by a rude staff member who found our requests for vegetables in place of salad were met with disdain, like the request was just too much. Her attitude was rude and unwelcoming and if we asked for anything she made us wait and feel as though we were just too much.
Very disappointing when usually this is a lovely pub. Won’t be back here again in a hurry!!

Pub food, big portions, prices as expected, nice breezy seating next to open windows. $2 processing fee for using the QR code menu should be removed. Save yourself $2 and order at the bar. Food is served promptly.

Plastic cups at lunch for alcoholic drinks made us feel like children. There was no music playing only outside the pub. And the food was basic nothing special.
