Having booked the service weeks in advance, I was pleased to start with especially with communication. But then on the day the cleaners ran late and did not contact me. I had to go out for an appointment so when they finally arrived as I was walking out the door to leave strangers in my house to clean, I very jokingly said like an Aussie would “please don’t steal anything.” The cleaners laughed at the joke with me but then 15 mins later I got a text message advising that they had been offended at this and they left and didn’t clean the apartment. This sounds ridiculous to me and lazy. I apologised for inadvertently offending them as I meant no harm but see now that foreign people may not understand Aussie humour and are more sensitive but when I returned to the apartment multiple items were out of place and filth from their shoes were on the carpet. THIS was unacceptable.
The company offered to send me different cleaners but after this reaction and experience I would prefer to go with another company.
