Branxton House Motel - Branxton, New South Wales

We found this place through booking.com. I've read the previous reviews about mouldy bathrooms etc after I've already booked this motel on that platform.

However on our check-in yesterday I noticed it is newly renovated. You can see this in the photos I took last night. We only stayed overnight for a business trip in Hunter Valley. The place looks very old outside and inside it is a brick room. There is a microwave, electric kettle and cups and teaspoons and a little fridge. Even a box of tea and coffee. Two beds, one queen and a single bed. The place is enough for our quick overnight stop. The heater works well.

The bed is not too bad and I managed to sleep well. For $199 this is nearly everything and I would say a common price for a motel like this. It is also very quiet. I am not sure what the other reviews were about people telling them off at night. We were up til midnight and didn't hear a thing.

Aesthetic-wise, this motel looks old and run down but the bathroom is clean and the water pressure is good. If I would change something or request it would be for them to provide a liquid soap instead of the bar soap. Anyway, that's why I brought my tiny supply in case that is not available in a tiny accommodation like this that we booked a day before.

Overall, if you're not picky and it's just an overnight stopover then this is not that bad.

Over priced. Old and rundown. Holes in carpet and mold in bathroom. Rude manager/owner. Most rooms are taken by shift workers so do not sit out on verandah and talk or you will be told off. Will never stay again.

Was looking for a cheap room as was travelling for work and paid $165 for the night after being told a different figure initially of $150. Didn't expect anything flash but this was an absolute disappoint to say the least.
The bed was extremely smelly and stank to high heaven. The smell was that putrid and that bad that I couldn't wait to get out of the bed in morning and get out the room. 2 single mattresses placed together with what appeared to be a board on top to even them out and then a blanket put on top for cushioning. Pillows were disgusting and rank smelling. Th smell hasn't left my senses for the last 6 hours since having left there. Holes in the carpet, scratched furniture, graffiti scratched into in the glazing in the bathroom and now need to say anymore.
Not sure what the other good reviews got but this is a not anywhere near what they had written. Would have slept in the car had I known what I was going to get for my money.

Motel Room Spacious, Beds Super Comfy, Room was really clean couldn't fault anything. Air Conditioner in Cold weather was great, however the room was nicely warm without it. Shower water pressure & heat was great. Very quiet also, certainly didn't miss the sounds of Road Traffic, Sirens etc ( much quieter than our little piece of the world), best sleep ever.||||TV, Free Wi Fi, fridge, Tea & Coffee making facility, there was a table & chairs in the room. We were able to get Chinese Takeaway & the Owner supplied us with 2 plates & knives & forks. Was lovely to be able to sit at the table to have dinner.|||| A lounge chair in the room also, chairs outside the room, lovely to sit with a cup of Tea & take in the peace & quiet. ||||New Owner, we were greeted with a warm welcome & nothing was too much trouble, which made our Stay even nicer.||||Will definitely stay here again

Nice clean room. Friendly manager. Decor was a bit outdated but not an issue as still in good condition. The room was reasonably priced at $122/night. ||||Firm Queen bed with soft pillows. No traffic noises. ||||Room included a small fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, glasses, plates, coffee mugs and cutlery - all clean and in good condition. ||||Had a television, fan, aircon and good lighting - Multiple independent light sources including lights aimed at the table, down lights over the bed, lights for the whole room, and lights over the mirrors (good for makeup). ||||Each motel room has designated parking directly in front of the room. Enclosed car park with access via the front reception so seemed safe. ||||Nice small town with an IGA (and deli), fish and chip shop, chinese and pub. Good location only 30 minutes to Singleton and many local wineries nearby. ||||Bathrooms are currently being renovated to have new tiles and updated vanities and taps. Rooms 1-6 complete (31/01/2020) with the others to be done in the next few weeks. ||||Overall: Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Well kept, very clean and well maintained complex. Bedding is comfortable, air conditioning works well and blockout curtains. Renovated bathroom. Although building itself is older this is a very well kept establishment. Manager is extremely friendly and accommodating to your needs. Convenient location just a short drive to the Hunter wineries without having the price tag of staying directly in the Hunter. Has local pub with takeaway option, supermarket, bakery, bottleshop, takeaway etc all within walking distance. Flat screen TV although could do with a larger one. Mini bar stocked with small supplies. Complimentary tioleties and coffee/tea. Serviced daily. No complaints.

Booked the motel in March 2022 for a discounted rate with Booking.com.||Upon arrival we were informed the booking was cancelled even though we had the confirmation from Booking.com. The male receptionist was rude and was more concerned with the correct price being $220 a night and not what they set with Booking.com. six months earlier. After showing him the confirmation and that they confirmed the day before and that we could arrive earlier than 2pm as we had a wedding to go to. Nothing more disappointing than having to change on the side of the road fro a wedding.

We stayed at the Branxton House Motel for three nights while visiting our daughter and her family. The motel was really convenient for us and we found it to be so clean and quiet (double glazed windows). The owner was very friendly and helpful - he even assisted us to carry our bags inside. I also appreciated the large thick white towels and complimentary toiletries.||As can sometimes happen, I accidentally left some clothes in the cupboard and received a call from the owner that evening. Nothing was too much trouble and he happily posted them off to me the next day. ||We’ll certainly be staying at the motel whenever we visit our family which is about 3 to 4 times a year.
