It was a lovely looking pub. The food was expensive for what it was. It was $35 for a chickens snitzel and $26 for pulled pork nachos.

For a newish pub it has some character and charm, just called in to have a few drinks and to check the pub out.
Food looked good, they actually brought some food out for us while we were there for nothing. People friendly.
It's worth a visit if you are in the hunter valley.

Fantastic feed. I had the Texan burger. Was fresh & tasty. Strongly recommend, not just to break your trip up but as a foodie destination.
Will factor this place into travel plans when I am in the area.

As we understand it was very busy on Mother’s Day but the whole experience was definitely below standard. Had a late lunch booking for 2.30 in hopes that the big rush would be over so we could enjoy a Mother’s Day lunch as a family. Upon arrival our table wasn’t available, we were asked to wait in the kids area and they will get us when our table is ready. No parents in site watching their children either. They were giving out balloons for the kids but the kids were running around playing fighting hitting other customers which isn’t really on as no parents to take accountability. 35 minutes later our table is ready. Starving and very grumpy. We then order our food and it took an hour to get to the table. Our food arrived when our booking was finished. As I understand it was busy but maybe you should over book yourselves. Was also stated a free glass of bubbles for mums and I did not receive this. Also the Sunday specials stated didn’t apply apparently as we were charged full price for pints between 3-5pm. Didn’t receive the kids desert with the kids meal. All and all would just honestly avoid this place if it’s for a holiday or special occasion. Was a 40 minute drive for us and we were excited as we love coming here but probably won’t return after this experience.

The only positive to take away from this was the staff were very polite considering how busy it was

Good atmosphere, good food, cold drinks and good service. What else could you want? Oh a great play area for the kids!!

The schnitzel was delicious. When ordering, I made a note to not have tomatoes and onions in the salad. However, there were quarter slices of tomatoes and thin slices of onions. The lamb was delicious but the portion was not satisfying. The vegetables on the side could be increased or another piece of lamb could be added. The atmosphere of the place was nice.

My husband and I had dinner at the Huntlee Tavern on Mothers' Day. It's a nice venue for a special occasion. Once ordered, our meals arrived in very good time. The venue was warm and inviting and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had the Beer Battered Flathead and the Empire Salad which were both delicious. We will be happy to eat here again.

Tried this new establishment for lunch and I have to agree with the other reviews.. The Food was only-just-acceptable pub food.
On a brighter note...the decor is lovely, view exquisite, service friendly if not over keen on customer interaction. And the toilets are worth a visit.
Hopefully they will sort out their food issues as its a busy place...we just wouldn't bother going back.

I've come back to edit this as we have indeed been back, several times. I do believe Huntlee Tavern have got their act together. It's always hopping and the staff are friendly and obliging. It's really good pub food now. So much better than our first experience. This time we had the Flathead and Chips plus the Salt & Pepper Calamari (Squid). Bit of a wait, but they were hopping busy. Food was well-cooked and tasty. Well done to owners who take the time to read reviews and fix mistakes. We'll definitely be back!
