The best place in Braidwood for a quality meal and drinks. Staff are prompt and polite and the multiple fires give the place a sensational welcoming feel. Huge selection of spirits and cold beer on tap, paired with the gorgeous resident sweetheart hound, you have an incredible venue I will visit again, I am leaving this review after my second wonderful evening here! This place is on another level for this quaint country town.

Just visited few days back, awesome environment and delicious food.
Chicken schnitzel was awesome (specially my wife loved the salad 🤤). And pork was fine . Just one thing to advise is that please cook lil bit extra pork. Overall, fantastic

A Braidwood must-visit!
Troopers Rest is a beautiful heritage-listed spot that instantly takes you back in time, complete with cozy fireplaces and warm hospitality. We enjoyed multiple breakfasts and dinners here — every meal was delicious, and the kids especially loved the honeycomb milkshake! Don’t miss their crafted gins by former Navy man Gavin — we took a few home as a great memento.

Cozy little place, beautiful and warm atmosphere with the fire going. Dinner was great and the food was beautiful. Lamb shank was perfect and falling off the bone. A little extra excitement with some celebrities in the place, was hard to keep my two teenagers from losing their minds. We will keep their identities on the down low to protect their privacy. Keep up the good work and look forward to returning again soon.

A beautiful little cafe in the town of Braidwood. Three of us visited here for breakfast on a Monday morning and we sat outside in the garden area. We had the scrambled eggs, breaky burger, eggs benny and hot drinks. Excellent service, delicious food and a lovely cute cafe in the beautiful town of Braidwood. Thank you!

Wow, it's a wonderful 😍 place. This restaurant is the Troopers Rest.

I looked at what restaurant is open in Braidwood after 5 pm, and the Troopers Rest is the one.
Drive 🚗 many times past Troopers Rest. never stopped ✋️there.

Today, I walked into the restaurant. What a wonderful gem 💎 of place 😍 ❤️ .
The building was built in 1860.

One of the staff members came up and asked how many people there 😳 , I said so many gave a table that had so many chairs 💺 😳.

The wonderful staff helped us and looked after us, every so often they asked if we, like any else 😀, never had a service like this.

Thank you, lovely staff 😘 ❤️ special, the nicest chef 👩‍🍳 who made our dinner, wonderful night 🌙.

I will be back again for some more wonderful meals 😋 ☺️.

Come to the Troopers Rest and try for yourself. I believe that you will say WOW.

Our dining last night was a very average, 3 star visit....we ordered the burger and chips, and the pork belly bites along with the sticky date puddings for desert. The burger and chips were good, but the pork belly was pretty terrible. Pork belly is a favorite of mine and I order that type of dish from other restaurants often. I know it comes with fat, but not this much and usually with excellent flavors. This (entre size) however, was $22 for about 80% fat and a handful of nibbles of meat which were not exciting.

The chef would've been better to take it off the menu if that's the quality of meat that was provided to them.

Neither the waitress or the lady we paid at the end of the night asked how our meals were at any stage.

Disappointing, I don't think we will be back. *I'll finish by saying our visit last week was a much better experience all round, with really good food and friendly service. I did write a review for that via the link sent from the venue at the time.

We had such an enjoyable lunch at Troopers rest. The food was amazing and great value for
Money and within a beautiful old building. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the owner Gavin is so passionate about creating an overall awesome experience. This is such a great spot to enjoy and one I will visit many times! Do yourself a favour and drop in.
