We had an extremely disappointing experience with Buxton while managing one of our properties in Geelong. From the start, our assigned property manager, Fran, consistently got my partner's name wrong—right up until two weeks ago.

Throughout the tenancy, it became clear that Buxton lacked the competence to manage our property effectively. I often had to guide Fran on what needed to be done, as she showed little initiative or understanding of proper property management.

The final exit review was particularly shocking. Fran deemed the property to be in an acceptable condition despite it being left in a filthy, unlivable state by the outgoing tenants. The claim that it had been cleaned was completely false—we had to arrange professional cleaning at an additional cost of $900, plus another $300 for garden maintenance.

To make matters worse, we had authorized and paid for work to be completed on the property, and Fran acknowledged this two weeks ago. Yet, just today, I received a call from the building company asking when they could attend to complete the work—another blatant failure from this agency.

The only reason we returned the bond was to sever ties with both the negligent tenants and the ineffective property manager as quickly as possible.

If you value your property and expect competent management, DO NOT USE Buxton.

Had the worst experience dealing with Stew and Tahlia, who are in their sales team. Incompetent agents- stay away from them, especially if you’re first home buyers.
Edit: I gave them 1 star because they didn’t tell me the house had deck and pergola built without council approval. They lied to me that it was compliant, but when I called the council, I was told that it doesn’t have any permit. They tried to convince me to buy a property saying that it’s common for houses to have such structures without permit. I found it later that it has issues with fire insurance and council can also ask for fines. Stew yelled at me when I told him about my conversation with the council, saying how insane I was to report such matters to the council.

Tahlia went above and beyond for me. I bought a property from interstate, she was able to walk through and send me some videos and be really clear and precise when answering questions I had.
She made the entire process so smooth. I would highly reccomend Tahlia to anyone in the Geelong area if you were selling or buying your home.
Tahlia is extremely transparent and hard working and I can't praise her any higher.
