I actually felt a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. It's a really interesting, historic place definitely worth a visit. Couldn't even imagine how horrible it would be to spend even a night there.

Geelong Gaol is a great way to spend an hour or two. Authentic real life items and clothing from the times the Gaol was operating. There is definitely some creepy vibes in certain areas. We are looking forward to the ghost tour next time

Fabulous place, lots of history! Was very interesting, my 11 year old niece picked up a presence in the hospital doorway, and someone in the surgery, freaked her out a bit then and she was done!! Souvenirs on the way out made her happy again! 😆 Got told after, she was actually right about the surgery..... !!

Great place to visit. Lots of interesting stories and history.
Shame they haven't kept the chapel is better condition. Pigeon droppings and very sad reflection of the poor use of the revenue to a level where there is a heath hazard for visitors.

Fascinating & engaging remnant of early penal justice in Victoria.
Photos & artefacts from prison hulks, to log jails, to old bluestone monstrosities.
Talks about the Kelly gang, all of them do, to juvenile & women prisoners.
Entry is $20, open from noon till 5pm.
I spent 2 hours going through the various rooms & displays.
Limited on street parking, check the signs.
Ghost tours are also available.
Also a number of art works from chopper reid are on display.
If you're looking for something to do, it's worth a visit.
