Placing a loved one into a facility for care to be provided by others that are not family is a distressing and overwhelming process. I have been fortunate to have had my husband receive a bed at the Bupa Woodville Memory Support Unit. From the beginning of the process where I was making inquiries, admission and respite time I have nothing but praise for all staff at the facility. My husband who has dementia and my family have been treated with great respect, dignity and compassion. The carers provide an amazing caring and safe environment. We cannot praise the attention they give to my husband enough. The area has such a peaceful, content atmosphere. It is spacious and welcoming. My husband is treated like the individual he is and not just another resident or number. I can freely air any concerns I may have and feel I am listened to with genuine concern. Besides the excellent care, the meals are excellent in terms of quality and quantity. An added bonus is that the residents can freely walk out to a spacious and pleasant garden and walking path ensuring ample fresh air and sunlight on a daily basis without feeling closed in. This facility has made the process of placing my young husband into an aged care facility a much more less traumatic experience. Honestly, it can never be like home but it's the best closest experience to it that we have been able to receive. Thank you to all the staff at Bupa Woodville, especially the hardworking , dedicated carers. Our family is very grateful and appreciative of the service provided thus far.

Hi, sorry for inconvenience. But today I would like to post my review unfortunately zero star for about Bupa woodville staff or RN incharge or management too. I am not going to say bad for anyone but want to tell truth. Please don’t lie about agency staff specifically if someone is doing hardwork and know what’s their responsibility and role and does all with honesty. Management should consider their own staff Are they reliable enough? They should listen the truth not relying on their own staff whatever they telling them. They treat agency staff very badly but they don’t consider their own staff when take 10-15 minutes for smoking going out during shift at leat 2 times then if agency staff staying with resident to assist them with toileting who are high fall risk then regular staff shouting or doesn’t allow the agency staff to do thing independently. Is that ok. Treat everyone as human being and RN duty to explain briefly before e lying to management. God knows who lied or who are doing good or hardwork. Some of staff really good and hardworking specially from nepal. And some of from South Africa really good at bupa woodville but not all of them are good. Please atleast honest or speak truth as a human being. One day everything will be infront of you karma pay back. Goodluck

The worst experience of my life. If you care for someone and then see the consistent issues that happen here, you will be traumatised by the results.

This is the worst Place with poor management. No regular staff, heavy workload to the carers and the nurses. Recently, getting people from quality team tried to fix this place. Managers has no respect to the staff, they just sitting in the office and trying to pick up on people’s mistakes and doing all the report. When they are thinking they are doing the hard work and right things. All the staff who worked there are suffering from discrimination, overpower and disrespect. Everyone was overloaded with work and short staff, the managers wondering why can’t they do the job properly. They had to fill up the shift with agency staff, and Manager said” Agency have no skill.” While they have no proper orientation and communication, I believe that is hard for everyone. It is easy to say and hard to do.

Those managers who think they are doing the right thing, are not respecting their workers doing a hard job for all the resident with heavy workload, they are playing with their reports and their working structures, they called it management, but they are torturing all the staff which will end up with come to the residents with bad experience. They were trying to be a good manger when people coming from the head office for a review. They will say everything is “ok” and try to make all the staff smile, however, staff are so tired and burned out, they just want to cry. I doubt this place can provide quality care to the resident with those management. I hope someone can save those poor staff and resident from those who fancy themselves as the best manager with experience and skills. But their foot never touches the ground.

They don’t know how hard people are working. Some agency nurse tried to help to fill the shift out, they had never appreciated for people’s help, instead of that, they pick up on those agency nurses mistakes and reported. I don’t know if that is going to help this place to become better or just make them feel good. With such bad management, nil proper handover, and communication, no one can avoid mistakes, instead of helping the staff to fix the issues, they are reporting their staff. Don’t ask why people are not perform well and don’t ask why you can get regular staff; I don’t think you even deserve a single staff with such bad management.

Wow~ Good on them and wish them would do better in the future. I used to buy Bupa insurance, but now I am so disappointed.
