The Reef hopper tour is definitely recommended. The flight provided a great overview of the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island. The pilot Carola is friendly and provides informarion on the reefs below. The plane is small, but seats 7 people, everyone has a window seat for everyone to enjoy the view. Flight is just under an hours and takes you out 25 km to view the reef. Well recommened!

After experiencing our first ever scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef from Proserpine domestic airport, I want to share our experience for the benefit of anyone contemplating GSL Aviation tours.
After our Airlie Beach hotel pickup by Ed, we had a comfortable ride to the airport where we bordered the Airvan aeroplane captained by Rowan.
During the flight out to the reef and back, Rowan would point out all significant locations with good knowledge and facts. It was a little bumpy while flying over the land which is normal with the rise of heated air but it was very calm over the sea.
I’m tempted to not spoil with pictures of what you will expect to see but I’ll add some to rouse your interest. You really need to see it with your own eyes!
I highly recommend this tour company and allay your fears of flying in a small plane!
I’d be extremely surprised if you do not enjoy it.

My wife found this tour operator.

We were picked up at our hotel and met Jeff, Ben and Carola; they were friendly and funny. It was a beautiful and clear day for the tour, there was a little wind but not too much to make the ride bumpy.

We had an amazing tour of different reefs and amazing water colors. We took a lot of pictures.

Our pilots for the day were Jett and Carola. We departed Cairns Airport for the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island. We received safety instructions and then board the plane. Each person on the tour gets to sit by a window, so no one misses any of the views or points of interest pointed by the pilot.

Would definitely recommend this tour operator for this and others they have available.

One of the best experiences you could ever do whilst at Cairns and highly recommend it. Our pilot Dave was an absolute legend. He was courteous and patient and made sure we were ok before, during and after the flight. Don’t skip this amazing experience on your holiday.

Our day started off with the Reef flight, which was absolutely spectacular on a perfect clear day. The views from the plane were stunning. Our pilot was also very friendly with a good sense of humour. Overall, would recommend flying if you would like to get a good view of the reef and the islands.

Short briefing on site and then off we went.
The flight was very pleasant, we saw a lot and got a great insight into the gigantic Great Barrier Reef.
German people would describe the landing as "butterweich".
We really enjoyed it all!
We would love to go again!
