We decided to try the trivia night tonight & to have dinner. The staff in general were very nice & helpful.
The atmosphere is great & is kid friendly.
I ordered 3 meals - 1 x kids fish & chips, 1 x kids steak & chips & a lamb cutlets for myself.
The kids meals are a great size but the fish was tasteless. Definitely needed more seasoning.
My cutlets were soo small it would not have even weights 100g between the 2. The jus it comes with was very salty & had lumps. I think it might have just been the skin on top.
When enquiring about my meal & the lack there of it, the young chef/cook was extremely rude. When I first mentioned it she rolled her eyes at me & just walked away. Then I grabbed another staff member who spoke to her & then she got very defensive & rudely told me I would need to speak to the manager.
After speaking with 2 other staff members & the head chef they gave me an additional cutlet which was just as small as the other 2. I think I’m total the 3 cutlets would be lucky to weight 150g. I paid $34 for this meal that I would not have payed more then $15 for.
I can honestly say my overall experience was ok but I do t think I will order dinner from there again.

Ordered the Linguini Boscaiola lunch special which was around $17 and was bitterly disappointed and would have hated to have paid the full price given its poor quality and with no exaggeration, I can cook better. Now I didn't expect it to be of the quality of that excellent Italian restaurant in the middle of Maitland, Roma Fratelli, but I at least expected the dish to be palatable. Having the option of having freshly cracked pepper instead of the awful packet stuff would be a start in the right direction but there's plenty of much bigger pubs like The Beach Hotel and The Kent that have no idea about food either.
Next time my car needs servicing and I have time to kill I will go to the Hunter River Hotel down the road as I've heard they have done a Reno and the foods supposed to be good or even the Henny Penny, which is a bit like KFC for those that aren't from the Hunter, around the corner.
On a positive note, the service was good along with the beer so they at least clean their lines that I swear many venues don't.

Had my son's 4th birthday in the alfresco area on the weekend. 40 people, we all ordered for separately and everyone had eaten within half hour of each other. Food was great, staff were friendly, the area was spacious and staff cleared the tables frequently. The kids area was perfect for the toddlers to play too. Thanks The Bank Hotel for another great event experience!

11/12/24. Went to the Bank Hotel today with our NOVACARE Group. After having three bad experiences in the past 18months I was surprised and delighted to find that there was a new manager & great changes. WELL DONE to everyone. The meal was great & the service was excellent. Ben on clearing the tables, stopped to take a group photo which was appreciated (good photo too.)

Served by a an absolute legend named Rhys (don't quote me on the spelling). Ordered the Classic Beef Burger, which ended up being one of the best burgers I've eaten in a while. Even the chips were perfect. My wife had the Lamb Cutlets with mash and veggies. Only thing left on her plate were a few crumbs and two very clean bones.
I didn't catch the name of the gentleman who played guitar and serenaded us but he was great too.
Just a really nice night out. Thanks, Bank Hotel!

What a lovely hotel. It was warm and cosy.
The staff were so friendly and lovely.
I attended a baby shower today. What a great place for a get-together. The food was delicious.
